I hear ya. I’m scared to send mine out. Perhaps FedEx is the better bet these days…

It is frustrating when things go wrong, but I don’t see how it is the fault of the Postal Service that the glue on your envelope didn’t hold.

Hope you feel better for venting.

Such a bummer!  Sending mine out next week…so nervous!  At least you know who’s got messed up and you can get them the info.  They’ll be there and your day will be wonderful!  Cheer up!

I paid teh extra for hand cancelling and they still ran it through the machines so I had that happen with a few of my envelopes. Thankfully it was only 2-3 total that is happened to out of 70 some. Hopefully that will be all that you get

Wow. I had absolutely no problems sending my invitations through the postal mail. In fact, I misaddressed one and they still delivered it to the intended recipients. Sorry this is happening to you.

@BearcatBetch:  I don’t know, I think it’s pretty amazing that for aabout $1, something I send from Florida can be taken from my door and arrive in Colorado three days later directly to another person’s door. That’s great deal in my book.

I find it hard to believe, honestly, that the fault would be the post office’s. It’s possibly for a piece of mail or tow here or there, but if one person consistently has problems with mail, that would indicate to me a user error, not a service error. Are you sure your addresses were legible and that your addresses were correct by postal standards?

@TopazWedding:  that really sucks.  I had an invitation freak out because Future In-Laws felt they needed to take charge of mailing the invites out and then couldn’t get the right postage and they went out a week late.  But I kept thinking, “in the long run, this isn’t a big deal and no one will remember” and it really was OK.

Try to think of it like that and keep positive – good luck!

@mrsSonthebeach:  if it the inviation plac edidnt do the addresses properly they would have returned to sender. aka me. which i did get one back. for a $1? it cost me over 3 dollars each to send my invites and they weren’t even heavy or a really odd shape.

and these people legit live withan an hour of me so its not like its going 10000 miles away. its going maybe 50. no reason they shouldn’t have gotten them by now

@BearcatBetch:  How did your invitation cost more than 2 stamps each to send if they weren’t that big or heavy? Also, just be warned that misaddressed mail takes a long time to get back to the sender sometimes. Hopefully they get there soon!

@mrsSonthebeach:  Maybe including the RSVP card?  Mine are $1.10 due to 65 cent outter and 45 cent reply.

But that extra $.45 is not what you are paying for the delivery of the invitation to the recipient, so she’s not paying the post office more than $1 to deliver the invitation. You’d be paying them $.65 (or in my case $.90) for the delivery of the invitation and $.45 for a separate delivery back. I’m still impressed that the mail service can deliver both those pieces of mail across the country in a matter of days for that price.
