Nobody has to have an engagement ring and many cultures and people don’t. There’s nothing wrong with your idea of switching between a number of cocktail rings.

While you are engaged, it will be a minor pain as people ask to see your engagement ring, but as many people often just wear their wedding band after the wedding, your choices won’t be under the same scrutiny.

herrera2016:  get a simulant.  There is someone on here that has a moissanite in sterling from a shopping channel. It looks vintage and is pretty without being super expensive.

my moissanite is from JTV and it is absolutely beautiful. Their return policy is easy too, in case you don’t like it.  here’s my gorgeous jtv moissanite e ring:

herrera2016:  I think it’s a good idea to wear costume for a while, esp if you’re not stuck on the idea that your first ring must be your final ring. costume rings are a great way to test drive different styles until you figure out what aspects you like and dislike. just be prepared to need to replace them often. they’re cheap for a reason!

that said, they can be a great holdover until you decide what you want. maybe by then you can more easily afford a forever ring.

Check out Rosados Box on Etsy! They have AMAZING rings from $240 to $3k+… Below are some of my personal favorites for $240-$1500. I’m just in love with my Round Brilliant Moissanite.

herrera2016:

I rock what I want!

My marital bling includes diamonds, rubies, sapphires, along with some semi-precious and synthetics. I stack at whim. My hubs is happy to keep gifting me a-bands through the years. I enjoy having choices.

I’ve also enjoyed stacking my mom’s emerald and diamond cocktail ring lately since it looks so Christmasy.

Bling!

Have you looked at a lab-created white sapphire? It is inexpensive, a genuine sapphire-so it’s a forever stone, and may be bridal enough to suit your fiancé. You could select a nice setting and voila!

bluehope:  just wondering where you are getting an AG in that size for under 1k.. I’ve been looking (or stalking) BTD and that size is $1300-1400.

Help me! lol

Unless you mean an Amora Moissanite not Amora Gem??

I guess ultimately it depends on the budget your brain will justify you to spend. Then you know if you can afford vintage/gemstone/moissanite. Costume jewellery would be fun so long as you don’t get too attached to it.

Was watching JTV tonight. Gorgeous ruby rings for Like 50-80 bucks!! And tanzanite rings for like $100. Absolutely gorgeous. Don’t have any experience with their rings but I have bought 4 items from them and have been extremely happy. if you’re into gemstones I would deff check them out.

Berricle!! Good quality pices, most undeer 50 bucks and thy last quite a while. They also carry the same rings for years, so if you fall in love with one and it doesnt last forever, you can always replace it 🙂  They have fast shipping and good coupons/sales. If you like silver, and can wear it, why not pick up one you really like, have him propose with it, and then you can add a few here and there to your collection. I have a few different diamond rings that I have collected/inherited over the years, and I also have one moissy (i dont love it) and a few nicer cz rings that I do rotate. My husband doesnt mind.
