why is it that i have to do other ppls work just because they dont know how to open a freakin file or they dont know how to make an excel spreadsheet. are you kidding me if someone doesnt know how to use the systems that are needed to do their job, then they shouldnt be working here becasue that means they are not qualified and i should be getting a ct of their check for doing most of their work when i dont even work in their department!!!!!

I kind of love some of the things that only I know how to do around my office and I hold them close to my chest. It keeps me valuable.

i work for a union, and yea almost everyone is like this, i hate it because they expect me to do do other things and still get my work done and if i dont so it they i get chewed up for it while everyonne else gets their work done because i finish it

@Oneeleven: and yea i do like that they do give me work because they know that it will be done correctly and promt, but not when it goes unappreciated and unregonized. i pride my self in my work but when someone else is getting a way larger salary than i am, but dosent even know how to open a pdf file that pisses me off.
i finish reports before schedule, when they arent even my reports, take work home, and i havent had a lunch break in idk how long and im still getting paid the same as someone who does nothing all day and acts like she doesnt know what she is doing, or makes mistakes so that they wont give her work grrrrrr

i actually really enjoy helping people and teaching them stuff at work. i kind of have a knack for teaching. i’ll type out specific written instructions and everything lol
now if i teach them and they keep coming with the same questions and are lazy about it, i start getting annoyed.

Whatever happened to helping each other out at work? You just need to figure out a way that your manager knows that you are a resource for these people.
Could you make an offer to the manager to give the “computer tip of the day”?- a mini session devoted to upgrading others’ skills?
