I live in a city that doesnt have many options… and I am on a tight budget. So needless to say I am very limited with my options. We are making anything and everything that we can. At the reception hall that we booked the only chairs that are there are are the brown folding chairs like these. My wedding is December 11, 2010 and i am doing a snowflake/winter theme with the colors being navy blue, light blue, silver and white. So needless to say the brown doesnt match at all! The only place that has chair covers as an option is charging $2.50/cover and $0.75/sash. I am having approx 300 people. So, 2.50+.75=3.25 3.25*300= $975 aka WAY NOT IN MY BUDGET!!!!!! Any ideas on how to make some chair covers myself? Any ideas on a way to cover them that will cost $2 or less per chair?
Thanks in advance!

Would it not be cheaper to possibly rent plain white folding chairs?

The plain white folding chairs at the rental places where I live are around $1.50- $1.80 a piece.

I agree with the white chair rental. It will be cheaper, more ecologically friendly, and will be one less thing you have to stress about.

Yeah, just rent new chairs. Or decrease your guest list to make the decor budget more feasible….

I’m actually struggling with the same question, I WISH our venue provided free chairs. I think it’s best to BUY chair covers and then resell them later. There are a lot of brides who wouldn’t mind using chair covers, used once, at a very slightly lower price 🙂 Even if you bought it at 2.50, you could resell for $2.00 and your price would only be $150 for much nicer chairs.
I might do this for my wedding as well…but it’s an outdoor venue, so I’m not sure how chair covers would look outside…

or just use a length of fabric as a sash
this site has a clearance section where sashes are only 49cents each-not your color right now but keep an eye on their sales
