This is a public library room, it only cost $100 to rent, our ceremony will be short, but we will be expecting lots of quests(place is big). I dont want to waste a lot of money on this room(dont have) Any ideas how to decor this room on a budget. I am not crazy in love how this placce look, but the price is RIGHT

I think the room is lovely, although I’m not a huge fan of those red curtains, haha. I think an aisle runner, some chair covers, and maybe some floral arrangements in the front would make a world of difference!
Maybe rent an arch?

Unique venues are the best. Wouldn’t of even thought to check out a library! Well done on the price point and creativity.
Looking at the picture, candles could be a pretty and inexpensive way to go. Check out thrift stores for an eclectic mix of candle-holder stands…?
Good luck and have fun!

Um, that’s not ugly AT ALL. If that was our venue, we would have gone full-on steampunk and made it amazing.
If that’s not your cup of tea, though, I think red roses and dark wood chiavari chairs with gold sashes would be amazing. With architecture like that, you won’t need much at all. Maybe a couple rose altar arrangements.
You’re not going to be able to fight the features of this room without pipe-and-draping the entire thing, or without extensive use of uplighting. Just try and work with it. I think it will be beautiful!

love those candles!
They’re not bad though, and they go with the feel of the room. I think playing up that gold color in them would look lovely, too.

@brokeninnj: I don’t think it is ugly at all. I think it’s a grand historical room with wonderful wood features. I agree the curtains aren’t the greatest, but you can live with that.
Here’s a pic without the screen blocking the fireplace
The fireplace will make a grand backdrop for the ceremony. You could use 3M Command Hooks to hang a grand wreath, a moss monogram or even bunting across the face of the fireplace.
A couple of large scale arrangements on either side of the fireplace will show up beautifully against the wood panelling.I would use a gold vase or basket to pick up on the gold in that glorious ceiling.

@brokeninnj: I actually thinl that space lovely and regal. Don’t go putting cheesy wedding shit up; it’ll cheapen the look.
or just some bright pomanders:

I agree that it is a lively space as is.
I think you need to remember that in both photos they are using a projection screen so the curtains are closed. if you open them up it will light up the room more but also reduce the visibility of the curtains.
