I was REALLY set on having hale bale seating for my wedding, which is now just 3 short weeks away. Turns out the farmer changed his mind and no longer wants to rent us the the bales, but sell them for an outrageous price of $8 per bale. So That’s out
I tried to research where I could rent chairs, but due to my venue location I have been unable to find a vendor within our budget. One vendor has a great price for the rental, but has a $130 delivery charge– for only a $30 of product
MY venue has really awful chairs- I know that we could opt to do chair covers, but 1. they dont go with our wedding theme and 2. might collapse our budget since we are pretty close to the wedding day
is it completly awful to just go with the above chairs, as is? I just don’t want another To-do list task. I also dont want to have to deal with an added expense just for a 30 minute ceremony.

if its just for the ceremony I wouldnt worry about it. Maybe you can drape the back row in fabric just to dress them up a little when people are walking up the the seating area/ photos. It is such a minor detail in the big scheme of things.

CG4268: I wouldn’t worry about it. No one is going to care about chairs so long as there is enough of them to sit in and they are in good condition.

nobody will notice the chairs. no one ever notices the chairs.

I personally wouldn’t use those chairs as is, but I’m the type of person who notices things like that. My reception venue has folding chairs like those, and I got chair covers to cover them.
Can you open up a thing on craigslist looking to rent hay bales? I’m purchasing hay bales for our ourdoor firepit area for $3 a bale.

I went to a wedding where the bride slipped a lovely pillowcase over the backs of the chairs. No sewing. She just folded up the extra fabric at the bottom on the inside.
They looked just like the chair jackets you can buy.

CG4268: I think you’re fine with those chairs. I’m not covering my venue chairs or decorating them. I thought about it this way: I’ve been to a lot of weddings & I can’t remember what the chairs looked like at a single one. No body is going to care what your chairs look like

It’s true –
Nobody ever cares about the chairs. My mother made chairs her life’s work for a good 8 months and went above and beyond to make our chairs look amazing. Honestly, I didn’t give a rats ass. I even made a post on weddingbee about our chairs. I’m always interested to see what people do with them. People literally sit their asses in chairs. As long as they are clean they are golden, IMO. OP – you’re good to go.

CG4268: I had ugly chairs too that didn’t go with my decorations either. No one cared and everyone still had a fantastic time. My pictures looked terrific too.

I just want to post on this comment that I did NOTHING to my chairs, and no one cared.
Money saved and less stress
