I dont think the dress is ugly at all!  It may look different if you tell them a specific way I guess (i have never had a dress pressed before) but i would imagine it would. (NO OFFENSE AT ALL) but the woman in the pic has more of a “bust” if you will. So that may be a reaosn why as well.

It will sit much nicer once it is steamed.

I think the shine is just the fabric. It is beautiful though. Maybe add some color in there like change the sash around the waist. Keep that very cute flower though!!

This is my dress too. I was bummed that it didn’t look like the picture too. I am getting accustomed to the shine. Yours looks a bit loose on you, wish I had that problem; ). Mine sits higher because it is nice and tight, but it looks good higher. I bought an Aline medium fullness slip from a fellow bee and it helped. I would buy a fuller one if I wanted to spend more money. I also added a little something to the middle of the flower. I think they need to redo the pic on the site. I assumed it was a white matte, stiffer fabric. It is not white, it shines and is very soft. I have fallen in love with time lol I try it on once a month and every month I love it even more.

Could you get some of the fabric taken out of the tummy area??  I think that may make it lay a little better.

@MrsElopement:  That’s what I’m thinking.

I’m sorry that it’s completely different.  I do think it’s a pretty dress though.  Just a shame the fabric is so shiny.

Just so you know, the shine will NOT be so pronounced in your pro pics. A professional photographer will know how to light your pictures correctly. I wore a taffeta dress and it looked super shiny in the pictures I took of it and it just had a pretty sheen in my pro pics. BIG difference.

Other than that, I think alterations and pressing will make your dress look 1000% better. It’s not ugly at all!
