You could cover them with something?

I highly doubt that the guests will even think about the ugly doors though.

Have you talked to the venue about this? They may not allow you to cover them with anything, or may limit what type of stuff you can cover them, because of fire code.

What if you got some PVC pipe and made an arch just taller than the doors, and hung some draping curtains on it to cover up the door and the pipe?

@crayfish:  This!

For safety there is often a visual distinction between the wall color and the door to help direct people to the doors in case of an emergency.  Please understand this is a safety issue.

There may be a way to dress them up without damaging them or preventing them from being operable.  Have you considered measuring the sizes of each door and perhaps making some sort of frame or something to appear as raised panel doors rather than (I’m assuming) the standard flat metal exit doors?

This is a detail no one else will care about

Yeah, no one will be looking at exit doors. Not a detail you need to be worrying yourself about.

As others have said, I think your best bet is to speak with the venue about this. They might have restrictions around decorating the doors, or they may actually have some previous experience with covering them and can point you in the right direction.

I know it’s frustrating because, even if you aren’t allowed to change it, you will see it. But, as other posters said, no one pays as much attention to detail as the bride (in most cases, even the groom won’t even see it!).

When they’re open I doubt you’ll notice them!  You’re guests eyes will only be on you and your hubby…skip this worry!
