I wish I had gotten a tatoo when I was young, but I was always too much of a square and now I feel too old to get one. Sigh! Your sister will probably think the butterfly is stupid down the road, but at least it is easy to hide and will be a nice reminder of her teenage years!

I’m 21 and I have six, don’t regret any of them. My fiance is catching up with five but I’m getting a seventh after Christmas 🙂 I do regret the font the artist choose for one of mine. I have a butterfly on the front of my right shoulder with a halo and the date of when my mother died and I told him at the last second I wanted the date. He printed something out real quick and let me look at it but I was so excited, I didn’t really stop to look at the font. The tattoo looks fine, I just would have prefered something a little less italicised. That’s my fault, though. He would have gladly changed it but the butterfly looked so good, I just wasn’t paying enough attention.

@tksjewelry: Sadly boys don’t grow out of that. They will always think they are pros at video games. Facepalm indeed.

@Cash000: I had a classmate get the same tattoo, same location, same age…but with the phrase “Slippery When Wet” underneath the bunny. I always wondered if she regretted it…

When I was 17 I got a tattoo of Michael Jackson’s initials on my right butt cheek. Top that one, ladies! :oP

As it turns out, that has always been one of my favorites (as well as my FI’s lol).

I have 8 altogether, but the one I regret is getting a Playboy bunny on my chest. Its not classy, and I have big boobs, which draws more attention to them. I don’t know what I was thinking.

Oh my gosh… this is making me laugh so hard. “Slippery when wet.” Hahaha.

I somehow didn’t do anything stupid when I was a teenager? Although, being in college now, I REALLY want to get a tattoo on either my upper back/shoulder blade area or my rib cage (but I hear that hurts like a b****).

I am 10 years older than my closest sibling, and I can SO see myself being “that sister” someday, haha!

I have 6 tattoos right now, my first one was done at 17 (with my parent’s consent). The funny thing about it all is that the tattoos I regret were done after I turned 18. My first “legal” one was picked off the wall, poorly done, and is now covered by a huge sunflower on my wrist and half my forearm. Out of the 6, I wish I hadn’t gotten 3 of them. My only regret is the one under my sunflower and the sunflower. How I wish I’d listened to my mom… The one I have on my foot isn’t bad, I’ve just outgrown it and it doesn’t mean as much to me as I thought it would.

Like someone else said, when tattoo removal is less painful and cheaper, I’ll be having a few removed.

yikes! that was me 15 years ago…butterly on my lower stomach, homemade aka GHETTO tattoo…

about 10 years later, i had it removed.  cost over $1200 to remove something the size of a quarter. luckily, i had no scarring, just some discoloration where the tattoo was (I’m latina, and my skin is lighter where the tattoo was).

I’ve gone on to have 2 others and am contemplating a third but this time, my tattoos have been well thought out and not done a whim!

My brother tattooed himself on his hipbone at some point in high school.  It’s really ugly because it’s just a word, and it’s really uneven and an ugly font.  I can’t even remember the word, but it’s something ridiculous like “playa”.  I wonder if he regrets it yet…

Darling Husband likes to laugh sometimes about his ex who had a tramp stamp that said “thug life”.

i was under age but my mother signed for me and insist on being there and help me figure out what I wanted. Its a beautiful custom piece which was handsize and now has extended to a full back. If your kid is going to get a tattoo anyways why not help them find a reputable place etc.

A friend of my SO got a tattoo when he was 17. It’s the sun, but it is around his left nipple…yeah. lol I think he half regrets it, because…well it’s just lame and  wierd. But when people hear about it and want to see it (especially girls) he has no issues lifting his shirt up lol. He’s lucky he’s really in shape, so I think the girls look past the lameness of the tattoo. 😛
