jerichasmith :  I would prefer to use those chairs as is, than to cover them with chair covers. Yes, they are folding chairs, but really, no one besides you will notice or care. Once your guests sit down they are not even visible. They are also very neutral.

If you must have them covered, you could consider covering only the back. That can be done in a number of ways.

Our decorator told us something that I’ve never forgotten. Your chairs and tables take up the most room in your venue. Spend a large majority of your decorating budget on those items. Because they can take away from all the other decor, no matter how nice.

I would strongly consider renting chairs. I don’t think chair covers can help those chairs. They are also going to be very uncomfortable for guests. Check around for prices on Chivari or similar styles of chairs or at least the plastic white folding ones. You won’t regret it.

I think it looks pretty that it is retro, and would blend to the background, so it will be ok with your vintage theme. Just use it as is.

In the bottom picture, I see some lovely bentwood chairs on the left side. Might they have more of those? It’s SUCH a pretty venue – I understand your misgivings about those folding chairs. How about something like this?

jerichasmith :  Don’t you just mean that they are included in the rental? Surely they don’t have a clause saying that using those chairs is your ONLY option? If you hate them that much, rent some other chairs and leave these ones in the area they’re stored.

jerichasmith :  Not gonna lie here. Yes those chairs are definitely ugly. It would bother me if I have to use them. I can’t even look at the rest of your venue’s decor because the chairs are distracting. They remind me of folding chairs you have stacked up in the garage from the 80’s. Can’t you rent out at least some dark wood resin folding chairs? Those are reasonably priced at about $3 per chair as rentals (in my area at least). I think that would make a world of difference.

jerichasmith :  That just means you have to pay for them. You don’t actually have to use them.

I’ve never heard of a venue requiring you to use a certain chair.  You should get clarification on that.  Anyway though I think it gives a sweet vintage vibe actually. I’m not mad at it.

Your venue requires hat you rent their chairs but does you contract explicitly say that you must use them? Does it explicitly say you can not rent other chairs?  It may be more expensive to pay for two chair rentals but I would do it in this case.

I’d double check that you can’t rent different chairs. I’m not a fan of chair covers, but I think some of the options above might be ok. But yeah, the chairs aren’t great as is.

If rather have those chairs than chair covers. I hate chair covers, they look super dated and ruin the decor. I wouldn’t notice these chairs but I’d definitely notice a sea of ugly chair covers.

jerichasmith :  As others have suggested – find out if you have to USE the chairs, or if you can rent them but leave them on their rack.  Your venue is so pretty – it is a shame to have such ordinary chairs.
