HA! I did the same damn thing, only for 300 people, yes I have 300 invitations, and now my send out list is only 223 people, which is only 138 actual invitations! AACK!
I am lucky though because I bought my invitations and will print them at home, so with the extras I am going to make the programs out of them and the menus, and then sell the rest if I can 🙂

You can send your extras to celebrities, the President, Mickey and Minnie, etc. A lot of celebrities and whatnot will send you a keepsake note back!

I know this happened 4 years ago, but here is what I did this year. My wedding is in July so I ordered my invitations in April, giving myself plenty of time for them to come in and then send them. MISTAKE 1: I put on the rsvp card to respond by May 16th. Waaaay too early for a July wedding. MISTAKE 2: I sent them the week of May 16th. Honestly, I had no idea snail mail was so slow now! MISTAKE 2 (and this is the kicker): I ordered 200 invites for 150 people. I only sent around 60. I have soooooo many left over that I have no idea what to do with.
Hopefully that makes you feel better about your situation. I can’t help but get angry at myself everytime I think about it because our invitation costs would probably have been cut in half. Plus, I was so ashamed when I told my fiancee what happened.
