Make a pinterest account…start saving money…look at what venues you like…start browsing dresses…there are so many things to play around with!

I’m in a similar situation (though nowhere near as long to wait!). We’re getting married next November, we have (pretty much) picked a venue, which includes food and some decorations. My mum’s a gardener, so she’s doing the flowers, the photographer was picked when he did my brother’s wedding (he’s awesome!)…there’s nothing left to really organise and it’s freaking me out! I want to send out invites, but we’re over a year away, I don’t want to find a dress yet, because I’m hoping to lose weight over the next few months, we’ve got loads of money saved up, we’ve got a good idea of our wedding colours/themes, etc. Let’s get married NOW!!

@SoontobeMrsFisette:  Of course it’ll be amazing, it’ll have an amazing bride Wink

Haha, it’s a pain, isn’t it? On the one hand, it’s great to be so organised, on the other hand, let’s just hurry and have the wedding already!! I honestly can’t think of anything else that needs organising, except decorations for the reception venue. My sister desperately wants to help with that, and she’s overseas until January, so not much I can do there…grrr.

Your wedding sounds amazing though! Hope it continues to be this easy to organise and we don’t end up writing a post like “Venue closed down one week before the wedding!”

@SoontobeMrsFisette:  I’m an Aussie bride! Getting married in an outdoor ceremony too, so all I’ve got to do is sit back and hope the weather is nice. Haha, doesn’t it suck being so organised!

By the time June 2013 rolls around, it will be a 2 year engagement. I started planning early…as another bee recommended….get your ideas together (pinterest may help!)…

Personally, I don’t think it would  be too early to book a photogrpaher. We booked our venue last june and photographer not too far behind. What was nice was the fact it locked in 2011 prices.

Believe me it will FLY by! I was in the same position last summer…now it’s nearly 10 months away!

@SoontobeMrsFisette:  I’m in the same boat you are!!! Our problem is everything we want won’t start booking for 2014 until around Thanksgiving 2012. I’ve looked at everything else, too!!! I definately recommend the pintrist idea. I have found so many ideas. As soon as we get our date officially booked I can start making some of the things I need. My Fiance and I have been “touring” the families and getting a lot of face time and hugs. the long engagement is so exciting but I’m with you on the to do list. I feel like I’m dragging my feet and that I should be doing something but I’ve got nothing to do but read an wish. We have recently been deciding what we want to do for our honeymoon. It’s so much fun to look at all the destinations and things to do. I plan on saving as much as I can to have “things to do” on our honeymoon. I really want to swim with the dolphins and every time we go near a beach I look for a place and my Fiance keeps telling me that’s something we should do on our honeymoon.

My Fiance and I had a 30 month engagement – marathon would probably be the best way of describing it. BUT, we got first pick of everything and locked in a lot of 2011 rather than 2013 prices which was brilliant. Seriously, get the vendors that matter to you asap. We booked our venue, chapel, caterer and photographer way early and I couldn’t be happier with them. We’re now in the middle of booking a band and all the people we approached are available for our date so we can just pick and chose. We’re making our invitations next which will just sit in a box until the time has come to send them out so no manic last minute dashes to the post office for us!

Honestly, people will probably give you funny looks when you give them your wedding date but it’s worth asking if they’re taking bookings for 2014. The worst that could happen is that they tell you to come back in a year’s time but on the other hand you may well be getting all your favourite vendors at a good price!

I know what you mean, it’s a weird limbo… some people look at you like you’re crazy & “it’s so far away”, but others already have dates for that far ahead…

Our plan is to lock in the big things early, pay them off gradually & hopefully it will be less stressful overal (maybe?!)

Hi, i am in the same boat as you. I have 11 months left which started at 24 months. These days though alot of brides are getting in early with bookings so they get exactly what they want and dont end up disappointed. I booked my venue 21 months in advance and just booked my celebrant 13 months in advance(she is now fully booked out for that month).

Some more things to consider are rings, shoes, celebrant, cake, jewellery, cars, favours, that is all i can think of of the top of my head.

I also made up a wedding binder which is very useful. It includes, checklist, budget, guest list, vendors, ceremony details, reception details, contact information, diary/planner and notes. i keep all my reciepts, ideas i have and cut outs.
