I used to go by ‘feeling’. I know my lady parts pretty well 😉

But to be honest I can’t even remember what state it was in when I went into labour! I had an antenatal appt the day before so I’m hoping it was tidy! Haha

@runsyellowlites:  Good!  I was really NOT looking forward to a hospital shave.  I imagine they aren’t the best estheticians.

I hope to get waxed before birth (not brazilian, just a bikini wax) – less so for the birth than for not having to deal with hai down there in the aftermath.  On bedrest until 36-37 weeks so hoping that I will be able to get one before birth!

39 weeks tomorrow (although it feels more like 39 months) and I’ve just been doing it by feel 🙂 There is no way in HELL I’d let my husband near my britney with a razor!

I had a brazillian done last week…..I usually get them just in the summer, then shave rest of the time, but I said for pregnancy I would just get them done, then I don’t have to worry about anything! I don’t use any numbing creams or anything at all, I have a lady who is really good and quick at it, the short term pain for long term hairfreeness is worth it to me! I had laser hair removal done last year on my legs and underarms and it didn’t work (even though my pale skin and dark hair made me a good candidate) so I am going to get back waxing them too.

No way in heck would anyone else be near me with a razor!

If you find someone who is a great waxer, it really isn’t that bad.  Take advil 30 mintues before to help, but numbing creams aren’t necessary if you go to someone good (good means really quick and also a high quality wax).  I got waxes throughout my pregnancy because I prefer them…although I had a c-section so no one was down there!

I’m 38 weeks and right now I dont really care… I kinda trimmed a little this weekend and thats about it, I dont want it to be completely shaved since the skin is so sensitive right now, besides its actually better for you to have a little hair down there

lolz, I have got to say that this might have been one of the most hilarious threads I’ve ever read on the bee.

I’m not pregnant, and I love my DH but I’m pretty sure that handing him a razor would be pretty much my last choice over DIY and waxing.

Britney.. lol

I remember after delivering my first and actually ‘seeing’ what had happened down there asking my husband why the heck he didn’t tell me it was out of control! I’m not a very hairy person in general and HAD NEVER HAD A BUSH LIKE THAT. Pregnancy increases the hair growth.

Kinda explained why when my niece (about 3.5) when she had seen me getting in the shower a month or 2 before delivery has made a big deal about my ‘hair’. I had wondered why it was so facinating to her 🙂

My name is Britney, so it’s quite distrubing that so many of you are calling your lady parts my name!!

I plan to do nothing. I’m pretty much all natural down there anyway (with a trim every now and then), and I don’t intend to change that for birth.

I’m 39 wks. I can’t wax, it’s kinda swollen down there and my midwife doesn’t want me aggravating things. Last time I tried to trim by feel I ended up cutting myself, so DH is on trim duty. But not shaving completely.

I’m a nurse and trust me we don’t even notice any of that….medical professionals have seen so many bodies that they just take it in their stride.

I woulsd ask your hubby to help you shave if you feel that self conscious….but trust me we know you cant even touch your toes when your close to 40wks…we dont expect you to become  helga the hot waxing contortionist…crazy bush is fine!!

I have been waxing my Britney since 1996- when I was 18, before anyone ever did it. That said, by 37 weeks and during birth I did not give a shit about my 70’s bush wolly mammoth situation.

I did however, get a mani pedi and highlights a week before my due date.
