Hey. I live in Warwick, closer to Birmingham but I could go to London – I have to go to London for my dress fittings etc. My vote would be to meet at the Birmingham wedding show. I went last year and thoroughly enjoyed the moet bar.

My vote is for the Birmingham show– I missed it this past year, so had hoped to make the next one. Would be fun!

Birmingham would be great for me – my mum lives in Birmingham and I have to go that weekend anyway.

If you’re getting the train in then you’re best off meeting at the NEC since the train can take you straight there. There are coffee shops and the like outside the exhibition hall or there’s various food/drink places inside. We can figure that out, the day is more important so people can books tickets/travel.

I imagine it’s completely impractical for most people but Friday would be perfect for me, plus it’s a bit less busy and therefore easier to see the inspiration shows and stuff. But since I guess most people work Fridays, I can do Sat or Sun too.

I used to live in Birmingham city centre so know my way round pretty well. I know some great bars/restaurants in the area, let me know if you need any inspiration. As far as the food/drink places at the NEC they were pretty poor last year, but I guess it’s the show and the meet-up that’s more important and as a mentioned before there is a champagne bar inside.

I work so would prefer sat/sun, but if not I could try and arrange to take friday afternoon off. This is so exciting!

Any one of the days works for me– I can just switch Friday with another off day.

Hiya….. i’m a little shy as this is my first ever post on Wedding Bee, although i have been reading the blog for a year! It really is my favourite! I’m so excited to see other UK readers on here

I may be able to make the Birmingham show if it were to be on Sunday. But otherwise it would be really lovely to meet Miss D’orsay and other UK wedding Bee readers in the Spring as you suggested?

I’m not able to make it due to our belated honeymoon (YEA!!), plus would get in trouble by Husband if I went to a wedding show after all the fuss last year! πŸ™‚

Speaking as an honorary Brummie (don’t worry, no traces of it in my Ohio accent though!), if the show is at the NEC, the actual stop you need is Birmingham International.  The train station is connected to the NEC and the airport.  It’s also easy to catch the train into New Street/Moor Street (City center stations) from there.

There’s a pub in Catherine-de-Barnes, about 3 min away from the airport, called the Boat or the Boat Inn, and a restaurant called Longfellows just across the road.  Both are solid options.

Would you be staying over night?  For awesomeness, there are great restaurants Henley-in-Arden, about 10/15 country-lane minutes away.  British=Bluebell, Italian=Matricardis, Thai=Thai Cottege, plus there’s Henley Ice Cream there…!

For loads of options, the city center, has them all, and is about 10 miles/30 minutes of city driving away.  Plus there’s the Bull Ring there for all your shopping (and Selfridges) needs.  And Solihull isn’t far away either (10 minute A road driving) which has a shopping center, Touchwood, with a Wagamama, TGIFriday’s, Bella Italia, etc)

Sorry if this is overkill, but hope it helps!

And hopefully next time there’s a UK meet up I’ll be in the country!! πŸ™‚

Birmingham sounds like loads of fun, but alas, too far away from me!  Definitely keep posting on any UK meetup though…Fiance can’t come to the US, so I’ll be going to the UK a lot!
