nonnymouse :  I think generally it is expected if they are there for the day i.e. photographer. I actually had my two photographers sat with us for the meal as they were so lovely and would be on hand to take photos of the food, table, speeches etc. Recently was a bridesmaid where the vendors were fed but away from the main event, they all seemed very grateful as it was a long day for them.

Our photographer ate in a seperate room from us. He said not many people offer him a sit down meal. He didn’t have the whole three courses as he said he wouldn’t have time between backing photos up but he did appreciate it. Our DJ was there from 6 until 10 and we told him to help himself to the evening buffet but I don’t know if he did. What other vendors do you have?

nonnymouse :  We fed our photographers as they were there for the whole day but no one else requested food and they weren’t really there for long enough for it to be necessary.  We extended the offer for canapes/ice cream and drinks to our florist and celebrant in the afternoon but I wouldn’t really class that as feeding them.

Most vendors will have it in their contract if they will need meals provided. We are feeding our photographer and band members.

Not a UK bee, but I am a wedding photographer. The general rule is that you feed the vendors that are there during mealtime. So yes that would be photographers, planner, DJ and/or band, videographer, or any other specialty vendor who will be working through dinner time. The exception to that would be catering staff, as they usually tend to take care of their own employees and have already factored their meals into what they bring/prepare.
