As we all know in the UK you are supposed to book in with the midwife at 8-10 weeks, this is almost impossible for me as that would be xmas day or new years day which obviously my doctors isnt open then (just to add, they only do midwife appointments on wednedays which is why it falls on those days) I dont know whether to try to get in earlier or to leave it until after new year. They book your 12 week scan for you at the appointment and i dont want to leave it too late that i have to wait until 13 or 14 weeks for a scan so what should i do?
Has anybody else booked in earlier? Were they funny with you because you were not yet 8 weeks?
Thanks in advance anybody who knows the answer xx

@bouncybee: I actually booked in at 4 1/2 weeks! I just phoned my doctor to find out what I needed to do once I got my BFP and they gave me an appointment with the midwife the next Tuesday (mine only does appointment on Tuesdays). When I went for my appointment she didn’t even mention that I was really early. I would book in before Christmas just so you get your scan at the right time. My scan will be on 23rd Dec when I’ll be 11 weeks and I totally can’t wait!!! You’ll definately want your scan earlier than later!

@MrsDD: I am waiting on an early reassurance scan already but highly doubt i will get one now with xmas coming so soon so i wanted to at least get booked in with a midwife so if i have any concerns i have somebody to talk to as my GP has not been very helpful. I called my doctors and they said they would try to fit me in before xmas but it might mean seeing a different team of midwives which is fine by me. They are fully booked today and next week then shut for 2 weeks which is madness xmas is one day not 2 weeks but eh well.
I am waiting on a phone call around 1:30 to tell me whether i will be seen before new year or not so FX xx

@bouncybee: Yea it’s strange that they haven’t moved their clinic date from a Wednesday to a Friday just for the two weeks! They’ll have a hell of a backlog after Christmas I would think. Fx you get your scan soon!

@MrsDD: They are shut the whole two weeks, its really strange. My old doctors was open every single day except weekends and xmas day. Even if they were only open for a few hours but this one is shut. No idea what people have to do who get ill over that period a&e will end up full instead!!
Hoping i can get seen soon xx
