I am not in the UK but in Australia and I ordered my moissanite online from Moissanite & Co. I was a bit nervous at first due to never seeing moissanite in person as well as ordering from overseas online so I just ordered 1 loose stone. I was pretty happy at how fast the stone arrived and the stone itself so I ordered a further 2 stones. I just dropped them off to the jewellers to be set for my ering upgrade the day before yesterday…so excited!! My jeweller who orignially told me not to bother with moissanite was very impressed with the stones when I took them in to her. I would definately order from Moissanite & Co again. Hope this helps 🙂

Yipeebee: I’ve also been looking at moissanite. My best friend detests diamonds and I recommended this alternative to her. Unfortunately, the Charles and Colvard moissanite rings sold by companies in the UK (such as Very) are of the old stock and come across as looking quite yellow/green. The bands of the rings are also very thin; far too thin for daily wear. As per the advice above, I would look at ordering from an established online retailer like MoissaniteCo. There are also dozens of crafters on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/) who make unique rings using moissanite.

I agree with looking at MoissaniteCO. They do have a UK site. If you are looking for yellow gold I dont think the ones from Very would look too yellow seeing as the metal will naturally cause a slight yellow hue to the stone anyway but if you are set on white gold then yeah, dont go to very unless you are not bothered by a warmer colour.

I am holding off for a few years on my upgrade in hope moissanite becomes more popular over here and more readily available!

The Forever Brilliant enhancement is unfortunately not available from C&C’s UK distributors, so for a whiter moissanite I would certainly import from abroad.

ChocolateLime, your picture is delicious. Nomnomnom…

SparkleKitty: love a chocolate lime! Why is the UK so slow on the moissy uptake? I would have definately chosen one over my diamond if i had known about them and they were more readily available at the time especially when I look at how much Darling Husband paid for my less than 1/2 carat diamond ring from H samuels in comprison to a moissanite.

ChocolateLime: I reckon it’s because jewellers think it would sell too well here. Diamonds are priced at a premium here and the market could be very damaged by something like Moissanite. I quite like the idea of having a moissanite without anyone else knowing, though ;D…

I’m not in the UK, but in Europe, and we’ve just ordered from Schubach’s. They do offer international delivery, but keep in mind that you’ll likely have to puy custom fees (~20%). That being said, I definitely recommend Schubach’s (as many other Bees do too!) as the customer service is fantastic. Good luck! 🙂
