springbee2015:  aw Yeah, it is a lovely area, never really appreciate it muchshould do really and make more of an effort to enjoy it. Always seems to be something better out there but there’s all these gorgeous places right on my doorstep! We’re going to London for our minimoon, when we probably could just stay in the county

catgirl:  I am obsessed with London haha, this probably makes me a little strange but I LOVE the tube! Yeah, any suggestions would be great thanks. I’ve been to London a few times, last time was last March, but my fiancé hasn’t been at all. We’ll probably be doing a lot of really touristy things so anything you can suggest would be great. I would love to go inside Buckingham palace.

Engaged in Paris:  Buckingham Palace is pretty cool! Also try and see the Changing of the Guard πŸ™‚

Also, if you had to use the tube regularly you’d be much less enamoured with it πŸ˜‰ SO glad I don’t work up there!

What have you done so far/what things do you like to do?

catgirl:  We had awful weather! We knew it was going to rain a couple days before, so had to order some large brollies in our wedding colours at the last minute. On the morning, we prayed it would hold off until the start of the reception, as we wanted to walk from the reception venue (where we were getting ready) to the ceremony venue, as it’s unusual for a bride to do that and I thought it’d make for some cool pictures. We also wanted to get a group photo on the steps outside the reception venue.

The rain held off until just after the confetti throw; so we did get the walking across shots and also some great confetti shots. But we couldn’t get the group shot which was a bummer, and we also couldn’t get photos of everyone walking back across (which would have been cool). It also meant some guests got soaked as they made a run for it instead of waiting for the cabs/cars (the hotel manager and the valet grabbed OH’s and the best man’s cars and drove them across to pick epople up lol)

We did get some cool photos though; I love the ones of my OH, Maid/Matron of Honor and one of the ushers running up the steps, and we also got a cool one with a reflection in a puddle:

Thankfully we’d picked a venue that absolutely didn’t rely on good weather, and it definitely paid off! We’ve always been so luck weather-wise (awesome weather when we got engaged in Spain at the beginning of Feb; fab weather when OH gave me my new engagement ring a year before our wedding; great weather for our pre-wedding shoot in June; etc)

barbie86:  goodness that puddle photo is the sort of shot photographers dream of!

Since everyone’s sharing their lovely photos, I thought I’d add mine to the mix too! My photographer blogged some, but they’re all in black and white (mostly) so I wanted to show off the colours too!

Bonus candid:

Sorry, think I got a bit carried away there…

catgirl:  2nd August. As I said, we knew that it would always be a gamble in England πŸ˜‰ It looks like you got really lucky though! Beautiful pics, and it looks so bright and sunny!

chronicwhimsy:  I LOVE your bridesmaids dresses and the bright colours! Perfect for Autumn πŸ™‚ And you look stunning!

The puddle photo was pretty cool as he took us out the back of the venue to an office-type building we didn’t know existed, and it had this lovely terrace with all these lamps. I could see him eyeing the puddle wistfully, but it stretched side to side so the only way to get the shot was for us to climb up on a wall and walk down it to the other side. I could see it would make a good shot though so was like ‘F8ck it, let’s try this!’, so we sent my OH over first to see if the lighting etc would work, and then my OH and the photog lifted me up and I made my why over lol. Pleased with the result though!
