I have an ultrasonic but I guess the one I have isn’t very good. I got it on groupon when we first got engaged, and I just haven’t been all that impressed with it for my more detailed jewelry pieces. I loveeee the diamond dazzle stick (I buy mine at target) and even when the cleaner in them runs out, I keep the brush because it fits perfectly under the gallery of my ring, is the perfect strength/softness needed and really gets in there nicely to clean the ring. Once the solution in it runs out I clean it with blue dish soap (dawn) and HOT water, then I blow dry it or I use windex then I blow dry it.

MrsEdamame:  I have one of these too! Worked great for my solitaire with just water but I cleaned my ring often so it didnt have to battle too much build up…  I recently just go a steam cleaner and I have been obsessed since I got it… I actually made a youtube review/demo if youre interested…  maybe compare?

Michelleac:  I will eventually get one. I use the steam from my espresso machine sometimes when it gets really gunky underneath the head of the stone.

Your video was awesome! what a difference.

MrsEdamame:  I use hot water and run multiple times.  You can also add a drop or 2 of dish cleaner.  Try soaking it for an hr before turning it on.  Or, maybe bring it to the jeweler for a steam/ultrasonic cleaning.  Most places will do it for you on the spot for free.  LOL just make the “oh darn, I didn’t notice how dirty my ring is” comment when you’re looking at jewelry that you’re pretending to be interested in.  (No…I have never done this… 😉 )

My verdict is in on the ultrasonic!!!

I used the one I got for my shower last week to clean up my jewelry for the wedding/honeymoon.  I wore my blue & white diamond pendant for one day and lost a stone for the first time in the 7 years I’ve had it!!!
