I am 25 weeks pregnant and team green, we went into our ultrasound today to get another look at the spine (we had our anatomy scan 5 weeks ago)…we told the tech right away we didn’t know the gender and did not want to so if she went in that area she could tell us to look away. She said she was going to turn the screen because she was going down low. We also looked away. Two minutes later she said ok your baby weighs 1lb 7 ounces, and I was like oh is that good? She said “oh yes thats in the 26th percentile for a girl” ummm….my husband and I just looked at eachother like holy s*** she just said girl. My husband then asked her if she just said girl and she tried to cover it up and say she didn’t. Long story short we ended up going back in an hour later for a free scan of the “goods” so we could at least get a potty shot of our baby GIRL since she already clearly ruined it. I’m very happy we are having a girl but pretty pissed she ruined our surprise. She admitted later that in the 15 years shes done her job she only accidentally slipped once. Ugh…

OMG that’s terrible, I’m sorry that happened to you. I’d be so angry too. But congratulations on your little girl 🙂

I am sorry she let it slip. It has t be disappointing, but I would still keep the suprise for your families and announce the sex once she is here.

🙁 That’s really upsetting. Sorry that happened.

I guess its frustrating because my husband had my engagement ring for 10 months and 2 weeks before he was going to propose a guy at our bank ruined it my mentioning the ring loan he had…ahh I am such a jinx, i am not meant to be surprised I guess. The odds of the tech slipping up are slim because they do it all the time, it just had to be us. I am thankful baby is healthy though…

Congrats on your baby girl!
I am sorry your surprise was ruined but maybe you could have some fun with it and have a surprise gender cake party for friends and family?

Aw, that’s so disappointing! I’m sorry 🙁 Keep it to yourselves and surprise your families (and avoid pink everything!) if you like.
But otherwise, know that either way, she’ll be a surprise at birth. Hell, she’ll be a “surprise” at 30, such is life with children. Congratulations!!

That’s disappointing when you didn’t want to know, but you can still keep it a secret from all your friends and family!

I’m sorry she ruined the surprise, but now you get to go shopping for a bunch of cute little girl clothes! They’re so much easier to shop for, imo. Congratulations!
