MemberDoes anyone else think that cutting your fingernails in your office at work is disgusting? I was standing in the common area outside one of my co-workers offices and heard her clipping away. GROSS!!!

If you catch a snag and HAVE to trim ONE corner of ONE nail, I can forgive that. But do it in the bathroom, not your cubicle!

MemberYES. EWWW. My cubicle neighbour used to do this on a daily basis and just the sound was enough to make me feel sick!

MemberUmm….I don’t get it. I mean, yeah, it’s inappropriate to cut your nails at work, but I don’t see why it’s gross. They’re nails, it’s not like the person is cleaning an oozing sore or something.

MemberOMG- this JUST happened here at work the other day, and I was so grossed out I closed my office door to try and block the sound.

Member@mrsmdphd: I think it’s gross because 1) bodily cleansing should be a private thing, and 2) I’ve never known ANYONE who manages to get every bit of every nail into the trash. And then there are clippings left over. On your desk, on the floor around your trash … ew.
MemberThat is gross. I actually just don’t like the act at all, the clippings gross me out for some reason. At work is definitely not the place to be ‘grooming’ yourself. Strange stuff.
MemberI don’t understand why it’s gross either. Definetly inappropriate for work, but why is it gross? Toe nails bother me a little bit, but I don’t think finger nails have to be clipped in the privacy of your bathroom.
