Fiance and I went to Sam’s club last weekend and looked at their selections. We ended up purchasing something NEITHER of us really wanted to get and now I’m regretting getting this ring. I didn’t want a tungsten for Fiance, I wanted a 10K white gold band for him and Fiance didn’t want tungsten for a different reason, he didn’t like the feel (weight of it). I’m thinking about running by a pawn shop to find something better. I know EXACTLY what he liked/wanted before, sams club DID have the ring but they don’t anymore. The first pic is what he liked/wanted before and the 2nd pic is what we purchased:
I guess I purchased this ring because we were tight on money and I just wanted to check it off my list. Is the ring I purchased okay or should I keep looking? Will the pawn shop be able to resize his ring or direct me to someone who can if I find something similar to the first ring?

@lindseyl06: what does your Fiance want to do? It is up to him as he is the one wearing it. I think they both look great but I dont know much about grooms rings or tungsten lol. Can you get a refund from the store if he wants to return it?

My Fiance and I are dealing with a similar problem and have come to the conclusion to change our ring for exactly what we want. We’re going to be wearing and looking at the ring for the rest of our lives and if we don’t change it now, we’re always going to wish we did.
It’s also inspired me to REALLY budget the rest of our wedding, and our lives leading up to it!
Hope this helps.

Have you checked eBay? I’m not sure of your budget, or his ring size, but it is very likely that you could find something affordable (esp since you want 10K) there.
Honestly, I think you should return the ring you bought. It seems that neither of you are satisfied with it.

He could always wear this ring for now and you could replace it with a nicer one for an anniversary down the road when you can afford the nicer ring. But if he’s really unhappy, I think checking ebay and pawn shops isn’t a bad idea. What is your ring budget for him? Just out of curiosity?

@lindseyl06: I don’t think there is anything wrong with the ring you purchased from Sam’s club, I personally like the design it is simple and to the point. When I bought my FI’s ring, it was a dark gray tungsten ring and he actually really liked it. It actually looks like the one you have pictured but a dark gray. But like PP have said it depends on the taste of your Fiance. But I also think that if you already purchased the wedding ring and you are on a tight budget, I would stick to the ring you bought if he can live with it. Like with women’s rings, guys can upgrade their rings too. 🙂 Either that or find out from Sam’s club if you return it and exchange it. 🙂

You cannot resize Tungsten. Return it and look for something you like. JCP, zales, Sears all have affordable men’s rings. What your budget?

Sorry I am just now responding. I can’t respond on my phone so I have to wait till I can reach a computer! I went to a pawn shop yesterday to look at some rings. I was a bit taken aback by the pawn shop prices. The lady quoted me $550 for the only ring I liked in the store. The ring just came in yesterday.
@whitarens: I was thinking about this. We were also thinking about this for my wedding band since I will have to get a custom wedding band (this will be my 1 year anniversary gift. The only issue that ever came to mind about this is when the photographer takes the ring pics but I guess we can take pics of the new ring for our 1 year anniversary maybe??
I was originally willing to spend $500 on his ring but due to some unforeseen wedding expenses (and a few other non-wedding expenses) we are trying to cut back.

If neither of you are happy with it, you should definitely return it and try to find something else

I think that would work fine. Retaking pics wouldn’t be a huge deal and, while ring pics are nice, it’s the pics of the two of you from your wedding that you’ll really cherish. IF you decide to replace his ring, I would look at OverStock. If you follow this link, they have lots of affordable gold options for men’s wedding bands.
