Oh, that is SUCH a good point! The costumes are crazy expensive, the traveling and hotel accomodations are expensive and then if they go bonkers and tan, highlight hair, get dentures…..they could send them to a great school by then!
I hate that show!!! It makes me want to go through the screen and slap people.
I haven’t been able to make myself watch it, but I saw a clip on the internet of a mother who was forcing her 5 year daughter to get her eyebrows waxed, despite the girl screaming and crying and begging her not to (because she’d had it done before) and the mother…god, she was one of those that was like “I know some people are going to judge me, but F* them!” It made me really really sad.
ETA: I hope the parents put aside enough money for therapy.
@FutureMrsMcK, I totally agree!!! My other pet peeve in the world is when I see babies in the mall getting their ears pierced. Did they ASK to get their ears pierced? NO! You have a baby, not a toy to play dress up with!!! Whether they’re an infant or a 30 year old, it still hurts, and you still have to deal with them. What if they get older and don’t want pierced ears? Too bad, you have holes in your ears now. UGHHHHHHHHH.
I’ve seen that show a few times, and I have to admit, I couldn’t look away from the trainwreck. DH saw an episode and declared that all kiddie pageants should be illegal.
This is the thing that I don’t understand. All little girls are cute. No amount of makeup or spray tan or hair extensions is going to make them cuter. In the Before and After shots, the girls always look so much fresher and prettier BEFORE they got all tarted up.
And I’m grossed out enough by the parents, but the judges??? WTf?! No adult male should be judging toddlers and little girls on how they look in a swimsuit, or how well they “shake it” on the stage. It’s disgusting.
LOL, I was watching that “Little Miss Perfect” show the other day…gross. That pageant guy is so scary. It freaks me out to see five-year-olds looking like they’re 18…let kids be kids, man.
