Well I’ve always been a fantastic sleeper, but I’ve been sleeping on the same side (the right side if you’re standing at the foot looking at the bed if it matters haha) since DH & I started living together nearly 6 years ago ..maybe I just got lucky 😉

My Fiance and I have tried switching sides to allow him a better sleep. It didn’t work, unfortunately.

but, turning out heating/cooling system down to quite cold helps us both sleep better. I also don’t get nightmares when it’s colder.

hope it works out for you!

The placebo effect is powerful. If you want it to work badly enough, it probably will.

I used to be an excellent sleeper until I hit my late teenaged years. I rarely sleep through the night, but I sleep best when it’s cold so I keep “my side” of the room as cold as I can without disturbing him.

I’ve found sleeping in the nude helps. Also switching sides every now and again helps.

That’s funny, never thought of it. My man has to have the side of the bed closest to the bathroom so we switch sides if we have to in hotel rooms. My sleep is the same but it is weird for him to switch.

trevino24: I get cold easily too! But our duvet is quite heavy.

I had been having nightmares often for awhile when my friend mentioned she gets bad dreams when she’s too hot at night.

I thought about it, and realized in my old apartment I kept my bedroom window open for air circulation.

My Fiance was opposed to making it cold because he gets night sweats and then feels cold when he’s soaked. But we turned it down to 16-18 degrees Celsius (not sure ferenheit) and his night sweats stopped and my bad dreams did too. So we turn it down when we get in bed, and turn it back up in the morning. It works out really well!

trevino24: DH and I had “sides” of the bed, that inadvertently switched when we moved houses…I don’t like to sleep closest to the bedroom door.

But I will say that I didn’t sleep well the first few months of marriage- it just took me time to get used to sharing a bed (we didn’t live together till we got married). I eventually got used to it and sleep just fine now! Good luck!

trevino24: If you keep having trouble sleeping try an epsom salt bath before bed or get som magnesium oil spray or lotion and put some on your skin. Many times sleep problems are a sign of magnesium deficency (most of us are magnesium deficient) My nutritionist also suggested keeping a small container of sugar/salt mixture (4:1 or 5:1) next to the bed. When you wake up in the middle of the night, just take a pinch of the mixture and let it dissolve on your tongue.

caligirl0011: that’s about 61 degrees ferenheit.

try switching things up. Switch sides, switch positions. It’s hard to move to a different environment and to now sleeping with someone. Give it a little time.

I feel safer when I’m further from the door so I usually sleep better in that position.

We haven’t got sides. We just sleep however we fall into bed. I find a fan helps me to drift off. The noise and the cool.

My Fiance and I used to switch sides every 6 months or so. At one point, I was tired of the inside of the bed (when we were living in a smaller place), and I asked him to switch. I couldn’t sleep AT ALL. So I took the inside of the bed again, and we now have designated sides. Who would’ve thought?

I always thought it was closest to the door or window thing, but not for us. I used to be further from the door, now I’m closer. It’s just how our bed arrangment changed when we moved.
