My thoughts are to let it go. You’re not going to hire these people. Yes you wasted some time, but better to find out now that they’re unreliable than on your wedding day. Unfortunately in wedding planning there are always a few meetings that are dead ends and you leave feeling disappointed and annoyed.

I do think the first few lines of that email are so passive agressive.  Honestly, if I were a business owner, I would probably be apologizing and saying it was all my fault even if it wasn’t because that’s good business.  (No I’m not saying that a business owner should take the fall for everything but when it is a misunderstanding like this they should own up to it and not make excuses blaming the customer too).  I don’t think I would work with them again if at all possible.

Agreed, she could have given you a sincere apology, but some people aren’t grown up enough to admit their mistakes. Chances are where you lived slipped her mind. She likely made her earlier appointment after she had already set yours up and didn’t connect the dots. I totally agree with MissAsB, she’s really passive aggressive. I would just make sure to tell other friends who are getting married to avoid her like the plague 🙂

Wow that is definitely rude!  I had a meeting with a baker a couple months ago and we had a coffee shop meeting location mix up, but she was sincere in her apology, ended up meeting me, and turned a potentially bad situation around and we ended up booking her.  I’m sorry you had such a frustrating experience with that florist!

@green:  Would you mind disclosing the vendor (for the sake of other local brides)?

Is that seriously their spelling?! That is enough for me to run far, far away from this vendor.

That response was rude. I’m glad you found out now that these florists are passive aggressive and unprofessional, as opposed to after signing a contract with them!

Also – once they set up the appointment, which was in your area, they should have called and asked if you wanted to relocate your appointment. Personally that little tidbit really irked me – so rude!
