So my dad and I will be using a fairly unique song for our father/daughter dance, Tale As Old as Time, from Beauty and the Beast. 🙂 It may be a little different but it has a lot of meaning for us, and my dad even suggested it!
When I was little I would watch Beauty and the Beast EVERY DAY, and at the point where she’s in her beautiful ball gown I would go put on my best frilly dress and he and I would dance around the living room just like Belle and the Beast. 🙂 I think it’s perfect to dance to now that I finally do have my beautiful gown! lol
Anyone else have some unconventional songs with special meaning?

My choice isn’t necessiarly unconventional, but i think the meaning makes it fun and more interesting. We are dancing to Forever Young by Rod Stewart. My last name is Young, and when you hear the words, it, to us, becomes more of a “I hope you are always a Young, even though your last name has changed” type message. I thought it was a good play on words. haha

Aww I love that! haha
that is one thing I’m sad about through this whole thing, giving up my last name

We are dancing to Sweet Child O Mine by Guns N Roses. When I was growing up I would always sit in my dads lap while he listened to GNR or I would listen outside his bedroom door. Not a conventional song at all, but it means something to us.

Well, I am planning to dance to Mike and Mechanics Living Years with my dad. I do not get along with my dad all the time, and this song just seems like the perfect choice. I even have it as his ring-tone.
I am also planning on dancing with my father-in-law to a Tom Petty song =D

We did “Find Your Wings” by Mark Harris. My husband and mother-in-law joined in halfway through the song. It was great!

We’re dancing to the Charlie Brown Medley covered by The Piano Guys 🙂 (My dad and I always used to read the comics.)
