@Serey:  It’s really a matter of personal choice. Why not go and try a few on and see how you feel? I love cushion cuts, but that’s a me thing.

Have you tried them on? I would think seeing them on your finger would help you decide.

Personally, I like square/rectangular cut stones, so I would choose a radiant, but all three cuts you are choosing between are very different. I’ve never been a big fan of cushions, but that’s totally a personal choice. My mom has a marquise and it’s lovely. Plus, you don’t see marquis all that often anymore, so you would have a unique ring.

I definitely agree with going and trying some on, as they will look very different on your finger!

Personally, I am not fond of radiants (just the modern/sharpness does not appeal to me), but some cushions are lovely (depending on the cut, I prefer chunkier cushions) and while I know marquise is not as common these days as it was a couple decades ago and get a bit of a negative association to 80s style, I think they are gorgeous. I especially love a fatter marquise in a well done bezel (with or without a halo) and have seen some gorgeous examples on Pricescope, and when they are set E-W they also add a very interesting twist! I also like that they aren’t so common anymore, as I think you can truly come out with a very unique ring. If I did not have a moissanite OEC, I would be all over a fat pear or fat marquise in a bezel of some sort!

I always thought this marquise was gorgeous, but something a little different from the norm:

I never liked a marquise cut until I saw some reset east west. Love that look!

I think you’d have to try one on and see which one suits you. Smile

I’m biased towards a cushion brillant because I have one.  I wanted something a bit different but just as sparkley as a round so my cushion is a modified brillant.

I think it’s personal preference.

Are you going for something more classic? I think cushion, round or radient would be the way to go.

Something more unique? Marquise may fit the bill then.

What styles do you like?

Personally I love the timeless look of a round stone.

You should definitely decide what looks best on YOUR hand. I ended up going with a marquise because not a single one of my friends has one and I got the A. Jaffe (awesome designer) halo marquise which is more of a modern take on marquise! Good luck!

@Serey:  As other posters have said, definitely check out the diamonds in real life and see what looks best on your hand.  I have a cushion (don’t know much about the other two shapes you mentioned) and I absolutely love it.  If you end up wanting a cushion, just know that they actually come in a variety of shapes and facet cuts – there isn’t a standard facet shape for cushions (see picture below showing 2 cushions that look very different from each other).
