Has anyone ever told you your ring is too small?
When I got engaged the first person I told that wasn’t family or friend, the first thing they said was that my ring was small.
I was so shocked because I love the size of my ring (.75) , yeah its not 1 carat, but I am a simple person.
I would have been completely happy with just a wedding band.

No way! My ring is .5 and I only get compliments. It’s a symbol of love and luckily I think most ppl see that.

Nobody has said anything. My ring is engagement ring is 0.43ct and I believe my wedding ring is 0.25ct. They’re perfect for me and that’s all that matters.

Nope, I have a .7 round and I’ve gotten quite a lot of responses on how large it is. I’m not even from small town or anything, try Chicago. And people still tell me this.

Wow, that is douchey! How crazy. I’m sure your ring is beautiful and sparkly and stunning! My center stone is 0.7 and I’ve only heard people say how pretty and sparkly it is. Ultimately you love it and it’s a symbol of a lifetime of love ahead of you, so eff those dumbasses.

@jbridea: PSH! they don’t know what they’re talking about and why the heck does it matter to them?

My e-ring is .37tcw, and I always get told it looks huge. It definitely helps that the halo/cluster looks like one large diamond, though.

Yeah I thought it was kind of crazy that she said that to me. Does she not realize how much a diamond cost?

When I was engaged the first time I got “Oh..uhmmm that’s …cute!” responces but not any “Oh that’s to small!” or anything.

Yes! I had this ditz I go to school with look at it and say ” when I get engaged I dont want a big stone, just a little one like yours”. Really, it’s a freaking 1 ct on a size 4.5 finger. Whhhhatevvvva.

YES!!! The one person Fiance works with kind of made fun of him for not getting me a huge ol rock. on my 5.5 size finger my .61 center diamond is PERFECT!!! I told the guy to pretty much to EFF off b/c its PERFECT for my hand!

This is so rude!! my e-ring is .6ct solitaire and my finger is size 4.5 (I think, its English size i anyway!) and everyone comments on how lovely it is. I absolutely LOVE it!
I would no way say anything like this to anyone. She’s probably jealous of you and your lovely ring, just ignore her! 🙂

A girl I used to work with didn’t say it in so many words, but that’s what she meant. Her ring is huge, AND she made her husband swap out some of the stones on her wedding band for bigger ones, so whatever. My ring is .5 total (.25 center), and it’s perfect for me. No one in my family has anything even close to mine, and I can’t say that I’ve ever seen any of the rings in FI’s family–I think they flat out don’t wear them or don’t even have one. I know FSMIL doesn’t wear hers (just a plain band), and Future Sister-In-Law lost hers.

@jbridea: First of all, that lady is a tactless idiot. Second of all, screw her. Rings of all shapes and sizes are lovely. I have an under a carat ring myself (I think – don’t know the exact size), and I LOVE it. It is just what I wanted 🙂
Don’t worry, I doubt you’ll run into anyone else as bitchy as her!

I have a 0.5 round brilliant. Someone recently said how big it was.
This is the UK and not not the US.
