@sweetheart03:  I used to get a rash from what I thought was from shaving and it turns out I was allergic to the deodorant I was using. I started using cortizone cream and it went away, along with the darkness. Hope that helps!

Do you have diabetes? My doctor told me that it can cause that. I had really awful dark underarms as a kid. My mom was always taking me to dermatologists and they would give me creams that made my skin raw. It was awful. They’ve cleared up in the last few years though, but I dont know why.

@misscat1121:  Funny you mention that Dove because that gave me an allergic reaction and now I have the redness that @FutureMrs.browneyes:  was talking about.

@sweetheart03:  Its very common with insulin resistance.

Also, with people that just have darker skin tones in general.

Do you also have darker skin between your thighs?  Back of your neck?

There’s really nothing you can do!

Love this topic cause I had this same problem and i got awesome results. I am a dark hispanic with dark underarms and wanted to clear it up before my wedding. I youtubed and googled everything but what worked was putting the razor down and getting it waxed. I started doing it 3 months before the wedding and by the 2nd waxing you could notice a huge difference. So first stop shaving let it grow out a bit and get it waxed the pain is a bit but so worth it. Next go buy an exfoliating sponge at walmart and everytime you shower exfoliate under your arms. It helps get all the buildup residue from deo, sweat and it helps clear it up. Also dove is really good. I would recommend baby powder or even baking soda. Its not rubbed in and it doesnt leave all the residue deo leaves. Also lemon juice with a cotton ball works wonders to clear it up. Do it daily also after you have exfoliated or before going to bed. Not only is it good for dark underarms but the waxing last so long. I waxed under my arms maybe twice a month if that and it was so soft and barely noticeable so your under arms get some TLC with that instead of being scraped every week or so.
