this tutorial shows you the method of applying concealer to help with under eye circles – its not just the product, but also where and how you put it on that can make a big difference

I have horrible dark circles, and I read a tip saying to get a peachy colored concealer not yellowy or blue undertoned. Something about it cancels out the dark. Haven’t had a chance to get some tho! I’ll definitely be looking at these brands!

@Dancensations:  i still use Bare Minerals on days i dont feel like putting much effort into my look.  but i have HORRIBLE dark circles.  i mainly use MAC concealer for under my eyes now, you would never know i had dark circles.

I use Clinique, and I love it! Works great for me, and I have horrible dark circles. You don’t need to use that much, so it will last you for awhile.

I use a MAC eye base color that does a great job of smoothing out my eyecolor. It really keeps the eyeshadow on too.

I think the trick with concealer is layering. Use two different concealers and a corrector if necessary. I use Bobbi Brown correcter in Bisque along with her concealer/setting powder combo palette. The correcter is a salmon color which because it’s opposite blue on the color wheel will neutralize dark circles under the eyes. Then the concealer and then the setting powder so that the concealer doesn’t “move” and doesn’t settle into any lines. I also use Benefit Stay don’t stray because it’s great to put on after the Bobbi Brown and also as a primer before any eye makeup. Don’t rub concealer in but use the Stiple technique where you use either a concealer brush or your finger and pat it all over the eye not just the under eye. Also drink lots of water!! Water is a natural anti-inflamatory!  Sounds like a lot but only takes a few minutes and makes a world of difference!! If you don’t want BB or Benefit and choose drugstore brands that works too! Just make sure you use a setting powder. I swear by using a correcter though!

I use two different concealers depending on how bad I need it.

Light: I use YSL touche Eclat on days when I just need a little under eye pick me up. It’s more of a luminizing pen but it works great to reflect attention away from dark circles or blemishes.

Hard Core: Laura Mercier Undercover Pot. I use this if I have had a big night out or seriously bad sleep. It consists of 3 elements in a small pot. A creamy concealer for under eyes, a dry concealer for blemishes + a setting powder to make it last all day.

i really like physician’s formula. gives good coverage and doesn’t get cakey/settle in lines. i got my mom hooked on it too. but i prefer the creamy kind that you apply with a wand as opposed to the concealer stick. the stick works well, but it seems to get a tad cakey and isn’t as easy to blend.
