Hmm, I was pretty toasty under my dress so I’m not sure how much help I’ll be. I’m not sure if you’re planning on wearing shapewear, etc, but if you can get away with not wearing it, I’d recommend that. That stuff doesn’t breathe at all!

I did spanx and a strapless bra, plus a full crinoline under about 12 layers of tule. yep, I was sweaty. If you can figure out how to get a fan under there, I’d suggest it 😀 I think a hoop skirt was out of the question for me because it’s a bit cumbersome and tougher for door jams if your dress is quite full.

I’m definitely rocking the hoop skirt to keep myself cool. Every one I have asked said that hoop skirts taking some practice sitting down and maneuvering through small doorways, but they are actually supposed to be easier to walk in than a crinoline, which I found kept getting caught between my legs a bit.

I ordered a cheap hoopskirt off ebay, but it got shipped to my parents house so I haven’t seen it yet. Will update when I see it in person and get to play around!

Keeping cool, I’m not sure, but as for not sweating, I read a tip on here that one girl was sprayed head to toe with aerosol deodorant, and I did the same thing and it did help some. I definitely wasn’t as sweaty under the dress as I could have been.

I’m gonna keep reading this post.  I went to my 1st fitting and it was amazing how hot and sweaty I was from wearing my dress for 30 minutes!  In fact, she told me to get a regular white strapless bra rather than a long line one b/c the extra layer is just going to make me hotter.

@Take The Reins: But removing the crinoline will also make the dress longer, and you may trip. So if you do that you may want to think about switching to higher shoes?

@MUI831: So it is the dress making us hot.

When I was trying on dresses the lady helping me said I was sweating because of nerves and I hardly ever sweat! Now I’m scared. I live in AZ and my wedding is outdoors and in April! I certainly don’t want to be all sweaty for my wedding. :/
