Hi! I’m a regular poster but I’m going undercover while TTC. As my name implies, I’m very excited and very scared to start TTC!
This is my first month off BC in 13 years. I am on CD 10 and so far, I’ve had no symptoms at all!
No headaches, breakouts, weight gain, tiredness, spotting 🙂
No increase in sex drive 🙁
And, I’m still getting that minor “freak out” feeling every morning when I realize I missed my pill, and then remember that I’m not taking BC anymore!
Anyone had similar experiences? I look forward to talking to everyone on the TTC boards!!

This is my first month off as well. I haven’t really had any symptoms either. I was expecting more breakouts and fingers crossed, hopefully it says away.
I keep thinking that I forgot to take my too!

When I stopped HBC in Aug, I didn’t have many symptoms at first. My face did break out in mid-Nov, and I’ve since gained some weight (but I attribute that to being lazy and not eating very well after the wedding!)
Don’t be unhappy about lack of symptoms, it could mean that everything is balanced and regulating nicely in your system.
congrats and good luck! 🙂

After a few weeks I noticed an increase in sex drive, and I broke out a little more, but mostly just around my period. I love being off it, but the frustrating thing for me is not knowing when to expect my period. I’m hoping my body starts to figure things out ASAP! lol I’m trying so hard to be patient!

I went off it a month ago and was also pretty symptom-free. I noticed an increase in my sex drive during certain times…but I was also away from Fiance for a week and absence makes the heart grow fonder, so I don’t know if I can attribute that to being off BC. 😉 I’m breaking out right now, which I never do so this is weird, but I’m supposed to start my period tomorrow, so it makes sense, I guess. One other thing – I’m sure everyone is not this way, but for me, my first cycle off the pill was long. I’m on CD35 right now.
@skipper2010: If you want to have a better idea of when your period will come, you can try charting. I’m only in my first month of that but it’s pretty cool to watch the changes in your body, and after a few months, you should be able to have an idea of when your period comes, and maybe even pinpoint the day based on BBT.

When I went off of it, I had tons of symptoms. For my body, it was a total change from one hormone to natural hormones. After the first month, it got a lot better. I could see changes throughout my cycle and how my cycle looked off of birth control. I went off birth control three months before we started trying just to see if everything was consistent cycle to cycle. Then, it took us four months to conceive.

@hardtoconcentrate: I actually just went and bought a BBT thermometer today! Now if only my period would come so I can start charting! haha

@hardtoconcentrate: I was thinking about charting. I read TCOYF and got a BBT Thermometer. I tried it for a few days and I quickly realized a problem. My Darling Husband sets his alarm for 4:45 every weekday morning, so I wake up for probably 5-10 minutes while he’s roaming about the bedroom and then fall back asleep when he leaves. So for the first week, I temped at 4:45. Then the weekend hit and I thought “not way in Heck am I waking up at 4:45 on the weekend to temp.” So I stopped.
Not sure if there is a way for me to NOT maintain a consistent time and get accurate temps…..? I should probably post this in the Charting thread….
P.S. Still no symptoms and I’m CD13. WISH I had an increased sex drive, I was REALLY looking forward to that symptom, but no such luck 🙁

@ExcitedScaredBee: My husband gets up at 5:15 every morning to go to the gym. When I first started charting I slept in on weekends too, but it definitely threw off my temps. Now I set my phone for 5:15 every morning, including weekends. I am a TERRIBLE morning person, but now that I’ve gotten into the routine it honestly doesn’t bother me at all. I just wake up, temp, roll over and go back to sleep.
