It doesn’t bother me at all. I think it just shows the couple’s personality. I just think if you don’t like it, don’t do it at your wedding but if the people getting married are happy with it then that’s all that matters

I think the level of formality should be somewhat uniform across the board. We had an outdoor wedding so a tux would have looked a bit silly, so he went with a grey suit and I had a strapless lace gow. Similarly, our Groomsmen didn’t wear tuxes so the BMs wore cocktail dresses instead of gowns.

Hmm, speaking as a woman who always looks like she’s going to a slightly more formal place than her partner – an inveterate teeshirt and jeans wearer – mostly I don’t mind . But not at our wedding, severely underdressed looks too much like not caring .Might not mean that, but don’t want it looking as if it does ! And that goes for ‘designer stubble’ too, which I personally detest..
