What do you find is the best undergarment to hide the tummy? Uch, my worst problem area, but fortunately there is help out there! What do you recommend? If its helpful, My dress is a strapless and will have a corset back. I am on the fence on getting a bra for it, but I will get one before my next fitting, just in case one is required.

I haven’t had good experiences with Spanx, the three I have had seem to roll down. Defintely try it out before your big day if you can. It works differently for everyone..
I have a flexees and I love it. I put up a post last night about best shapewear and someone suggested Miraclesuit. I have one of their bathing suits and I LOVE it, so I think I might try the shapewear. Both can be purchased at Nordstrom or Macy’s.

I have a miracle suit bathing suit and it is amazing! I haven’t tried their shapewear yet, but if it’s made of the same stuff as their bathingsuits, it’s probably fantastic!

I have to say that I found that wearing shapewear with my dress just added extra “bulk” and I felt like a stuffed sausage between that and the boning. I would suggest bringing some with you to your next appointment to see how you feel in them in your dress. Maybe a really good pair of control undies will do what you need it to do? That’s the route I’m going.
Also, I want to add that I felt COMPLETELY different in the dress when it finally fit right versus when it was too loose. Plus if you’re adding the corset back that is going to do amazing things for you.

I am going to get a corset to put under my dress – its not a corset back and I want the shape from the corset style

I had one dress on my short list that gave away all of my secrets through the middle, so I was trying it w/ spanx and a boned hook-and-eye closure corset. My midriff has never been so tight.
I ended up just doing spanx. My dress didn’t even fit properly w/o them. At my final fitting, I started flipping out b/c it felt too tight in the butt, but I was sure I hadn’t gained an ounce. Then I realized I forgot to put on the Spanx. It was like my body dropped a size when I put them on. I think the key is that they need to be really tight and sturdy to do the job.
The problem with corsets is that even though they squeeze you in more than spanx, they also squeeze you OUT…like out of the top. So if your corset ends near the top of your dress, you might introduce a new roll of bare flesh into the look. I’m thin, and I got back fat where none had previously existed from mine.

Isnt that the point of having a corset, to help cinch all the right places?! I say get some tummy controller panties and be comfy! You dont want to feel uncomfy on your wedding day, I remember my aunt had so much shit on she couldnt even SIT down. My dad had to come pick her up so she could (no joke) stand up (sort of) in the truck! Yes that really happened and Yes it was super embarassing!

Having seen you in your dress, I honestly don’t think you need control underwear. I agree with a PP – sometimes it seems to add a layer rather than lose inches.

I got the body magic and I really like the support. I plan to wear it with my dress.

I love my Body Wrap. I’ve worn them for years so I knew I would be comfortable. I also have the ultimate shapewear from Anita. Its like a corset w/ a thong. Its the ultimate waist cincher and tummy flatner. Unfortunately, its not shapewear you can wear more than 3 hrs.
