burntorangeskies :  I’m in the camp if it doesn’t make your heart sing then you will be setting yourself up for disappointment. Personally the whole thing looks a bit bland for my liking but if you love it that’s all that matters, take my opinion with a grain of salt

I think it’s stunning and is a nice size on your hand. However if your disappointed already then I’d return it. If you keep it your likely just settling!

burntorangeskies :  I think your doing the right thing. Giver it the ole test drive. I also agree that setting the ring in yellow or rose gold would have lessened the warm look of your stone but honestly warmth di want bother me, I rather like it in a halo because it provides contrast. By the way, how does your husband like it?Keep us posted.

I think your ring is gorgeous!  Don’t do anything yet. Give yourself a few days, and I think you will love it!

For $7k I think you did awesome! The stone looks substantial on your finger and overall the look is very pretty. The stone does look beautiful. If you have a GIA or AGS Report you could post that on price scope for feedback as to whether your stone is a well-cut one.

As others have said the cushions do face up smaller and sparkle differently than other shapes; when trying on rings I tried on an almost 2 carat cushion and then had a similar style ring made for me with a round diamond of 1.3 carats. The 2 carat cushion was 7.25 mm and mine is a little over 7.1mm so for almost .7 carat very little additional mm.

I’m so sorry, but it looks yellow to me. From what I know you could do better with $7k USD :/

I love it!! The setting and the stone are gorgeous! (though I do see a hint of yellow in one of the pictures so I see what you’re saying there!)

If you’re ehh on the sparkle though I’d return just because you want to look at your ring and LOVE it, and rb stones definitely sparkle different than a cushion! They also show less color face up if you get a well cut round.

Maybe you could get a rb in a cushion halo as a compromise?

I think it is very nice but if you dont love it in a few days, send it back.  I spent alot of time and money trying to get my setting to perfect. If i could have just returned it in the beginning,  it would have been easier.  I have a Round Brilliant GIA G vs2 xxx 1.26.  It looks like ice.  Never any warmth or yellow.  It sparkles like crazy in daylight.  Regular night time light does not do much for it.  A round brilliant stone is going to cost more than a cushion, so if you want to stay within the same bidget and get a Round Brilliant, you may need to go down in size or some other factor. This is my ring since it is a Round Brilliant with similar specs to yours so you can compare. Good luck and remember you should love your ring and if you dont, no hard feelings.  Send it back and find love.

burntorangeskies :  can you kep the setting, but exchange the stone?

If I were you I’d consider putting a round brilliant diamond in the cushion halo. That way you get to keep the same look, but with the added sparkle and performance of the round diamond!

I feel your pain Bee.   I recently purchased a replacement wedding set online.  After seeing CADS and extremely magnified photos and videos of my ring (and others) I was completely underwhelmed and disappointed when mine arrived!!!

The wedding band was custom so I couldnt even return my set.  I was pretty heartbroken. My original set that I loved was gone and now I had a set I didnt like.    Husband was wonderful and got me an additional band to help make to more substanial and “blingy” and I was still just– eh.

But after wearing it for a while and the image I had built up in my mind wore off I began to love my ring!!!!  The ring shrinkage people have, I guess Im opposite, it feels much bigger to me now.  Details I felt I cldnt see I can now notice.  I rarely even wear the extra band now either.

I think the internet just distorts our expectations.  Your ring is gorgeous.  Hopefully youll grow to love yours as well!!!!  Hugs

I completely understand your frustration! I love the shape of a cushion but most of the time they just do not sparkle the same way a round brilliant does. Can you swap the center cushion for a round and still keep the cushion shaped halo? For me this was the best solution – the look and shape of a cushion with the sparkle WOW factor of a round.

If that’s not an option, I would return. $7k is waaaaaaaay too much money to spend on something you feel meh about and if you’re questioning it now, you’ll regret it later. Hugs!

jayrock :  I really like this suggestion. It will give her the sparkle that’s missing with the cushion and round brilliant show l less warmth!🤗
