Hi all…did anyone have a wedding with an uneven # of groomsmen/bridesmaids? My FI thinks im crazy to have 9 (this is with me cutting a couple people out already, I could have more) MOH/BMs, as he only has 6…7 at the most. I HATE HATE HATE for things to look uneven in pictures and whatnot so I’m just wondering if anyone has had this before and could give some advice on how to make things look even. I really dont want to have to cut even more people out, and I also dont want my FI to have to add people that he is not that close with just for my sake. Neither of us have asked our wedding party yet as we are waiting until we nail down the date/venue, so if needed the numbers COULD change, but we arent expecting them to.

@TheFutureMrsN: There will be MOH, 4 bridesmaids, BM, and 2 ushers at our wedding. I’m just not worrying about it. For photos, let the photographer compose the photos.
For the ceremony, reserve the front row/pew for the bridal and groom’s parties, and just have them all sit down after the processional, and not stand up there the whole time.

At the end of the day what is more important, that you had an even wedding party or that you married the love of your life? This is one of those details that just doesn’t really matter. It will look fine and the photographer should know how to place people so it doesn’t look uneven.

I will have 4 BM’s and he will have 3 GM. One of the GM will escort my 2 sisters, who are both under 18yrs old. I don’t consider then “junior” BM’s, but did since FI does not have another very close friend to include, I was fine with having an uneven number.
And I think the pics will look fine without the exact same # of people as long as the difference is only 1 or 2 people you cant just have the bridesmaids stand slightly closer together to achieve a symmetrical look to the bridal party.

I did! I had 7 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen! My brother just walked down with my sister and cousin. It was super cute!

4 bridesmaids, 3 groomsmen. Plus two flower girls, a junior bridesmaid, and one ring bearer. The boys are hopelessly outnumbered no matter what, so I am just not worrying about it at all.
