TaraMay_:  The only thing I can recommend is exfoliating and getting a good spray tan (if you’re into that kind of thing). I have a lot of hypopigmentation spots, and I’ve used bronzers/spray tans to even my skin out effectively.

I mean, this is obviously not that healthy and you shouldnt do it #forlife but:

Tanning clears up acne. Outside with the sun or inside a bed. Either way: no more than 10-15 minutes depending on your skin-  at low strength (afternoon/morning sun or lowgrade bed) with lots of noncomedegenic sunblock. A few sessions would probably help.

TaraMay_:  I would be wary of sun tanning if you have uneven skin tone, as the different colours can tan at different rates and make it much worse looking.

TaraMay_:  I would suggest — if you can afford it — going to a spa for a series of peels or maybe even IPL. you’ll want to start early, it could take a few sessions over many weeks or months. that way you could have permanent results! (one caveat: if you are tan or dark skinned, IPL is not recommended as it could cause uneven pigment.)

if you can’t afford it, then there are lots of water resistant / rub proof foundations out there. I used one on my legs to hide some spider veins, and I couldn’t believe how well it worked! I used diorskin airflash spray foundation, but it was super expensive. I bet a makeup artist could recommend something more affordable (like dermablend or sally hansen).

If it’s really mild, then perhaps a couple of chemical peels may alleviate it.

You can even try using 10% glycolic acid at home.

I’ve used Neostrata peeling kits on my face before. It worked really well!

TaraMay_:  Have you tried Tan Towels? I love those, and they work well. I also had great success with Jergen’s natural glow lotion. It smells so much better than before, and the new stuff even has a skin firming aspect. I got a nice glow, and look just tanned enough in my photos. I also have some discoloration, and you can’t see it in photos.
