Today has been an interesting morning for me. First, my Fiance called me to troubleshoot an IT issue that he and his team were having. Then a little while later, he texts me and asks if I want a job with his company (I think he was teasing, but not sure). Then a head hunter called me on my work phone and proceeded to interview me for 25 minutes. I wasn’t interested in doing an interview and didn’t even have my resume in front of me, but I couldn’t find the “right” time to stop the interview without being rude and possibly jeopardizing future opportunities.
I am happy with my current job, so I don’t think I would leave. But I was curious, at what point would you give up a job you like to take another opportunity? Would it be for more money, better benefits, a shorter commute, an opportunity to move up fast?
