My Boyfriend or Best Friend did the same thing to me.  In my case it was when I started getting serious with my boyfriend.  It sounds like an extreme case of jealousy.  There was nothing I could do to salvage the relationship, but I’ll tell you several years later, I feel so much better without all the drama in my life.  You’re better off.

@Mrs.Jansen: You are better off, like @Merelton: said, its extreme jealousy. Consider it a good thing, helps you weed out the people that don’t actually love you, or want you to be happy. I find the whole facebook thing so funny, its so juvenile how some people think an un-friending is how you tell someone what they are mad at you.

Its her loss, and you got saved allot of drama.

Wow, that is such a girl thing to do! If you guys are really friends, why would she delete you?….. Exactly. I agree with your Fiance, let it go!

A former friend of mine did that to me(when Myspace was popular). We were really close too. She publicly wrote horrible things about me on her Myspace, citing what a horrible person I was and that I betrayed her. I still have no clue why she did that.

She was extremey jealous and possesive of the few friends she had. There were a few times in our relationship that she’d feel “betrayed” over something petty, (for example: She’d get angry if I didn’t call her every single day)

She’s tried to contact me several times over the last few years and I ignore her. I live in another state now and I have a career and a Fiance. I don’t have time for childish drama. I can’t stroke her ego and check in with her every 10 min.

Go on with your life, and don’t worry about your ex-friend. Its not worth the headache!!

Friendships should be a blessing and not a burden.  If maintaining a relationship with her is work then it’s not worth it, in my opinion.  Move on, and don’t look back!

@liquidschwarrtz: Oh my gosh, were we friends with the same person? The exact same thing happened to me about 5-6 years ago. She ended up emailing me about 2 years ago apologizing for it all, but it was definitely not worth restarting that friendship!
