Did anyone not have that Say Yes to the Dress moment? Maybe it just gets so hyped up on tv, but I can’t help but feeling like I should love my dress. It could be because I bought the dress in a rush at a sample sale this summer and made a quick decision about buying it. But, I just had my second fitting. The dress looks yellow on me(it is ivory and I am olive toned) and I wish it was more formfitting to show off how much I have been working out. But all in all, I am sure it will be beautiful in the end.
The seamstress appointment was very rushed as she had accidently marked me down for a different time. I also got lost on the way there and ended up being about 5-10 minutes late. My mother was held up in traffic and did not arrive until 25 minutes into the fitting. By then, I had to decide on my shoes. I saw the neckline and she did change it from the boatneck to more of a dip. However, I wish it had a deeper scoop cut or a sweetheart (might not be possible to do the sweetheart at this point). The seamstress said this was the style and cut I had said was ok. I don’t remember that, but even if I did I think it just looks ok not great. It is not that I have my cleavage hanging out, but I would like for the dress to not be so high. An inch, even a half inch, would make a difference. My mom thinks it looks fine, but I would like to feel a tad sexy in it. The straps are pretty wide apart and I feel like my narrow shoulders are trying to always push back to not have them fall. The seamstress was very brusque (quite different from the first appointment).
Also, on another note, she said she would have the dress ready for me two months before the wedding. I am not planning on gaining or losing weight, but is this too early? I have plenty of time as I am an August bride.
Just had to vent my disillusionment with the dress. And hoping that it will all turn out ok! Did anyone else feel this way at their fittings? Or any solutions that you came up with?
