When I got engaged, one woman made a strange comment about how did he propose if I knew about the ring already (I had picked it out, he was paying it off in the meantime then surprised me one day, so what?). It is like she thought that the situation was strange, not sure why I needed to know that. It wasn’t particularly romantic but it was good enough for me, how about just saying congrats or keeping her mouth shut? lol Not a big deal but just strange.

My grandmother crying after we told her our date “Thank god you’re not 30!” Apparently i was “getting so old” that she thought i would never get married……

My mom just said on Saturday, when we were talking about going dress shopping at the end of the month, “Oh you’ll be going with a white dress? Traditionally that’s only for the pure.” WTH mom.. Thanks.

amanda1988:  I just call ’em how I see ’em.  I have yet to see pink hair that looks flattering on anyone – it’s always washed out and uneven, and at best takes away from the girl’s face and other features.  Even celebs, like Nicole Richie, Jenny McCarthy’s new ‘do and Kelly Ripa.  Eek.

Not inflammatory at all, Miss Amanda, just an opinion.  I happen to agree with her family member – perhaps someone else telling you the truth (vs. being nice because they’re your friend) will help you make an informed decision!

SaraJeanQ:  Well, I suppose it’s your right to dislike pink hair. Regardless, I”ve had it for years and am happy with it, and most people think it suits me. Inclouding my grandmother, who was the one who suggested the color. She clarified that her comment wasn’t about how it looked, just that she thought I’d want something more mature for the wedding.

SaraJeanQ:  your opinion wasn’t asked for and it was rude and irrelevant to the topic at hand. Show some class and respect. Just because you “see it” doesn’t mean you need to “speak it”
