We are planning to have a Grand Entrance, high energy dance music with name announcements, for our Wedding Reception. However, we are not very big fans of having a MC or DJ making the “Grand” announcements for both the Wedding Party and Bride and Groom entrances, but would like to have the Bridal Party recognized by name.
We came up with the idea of recording the announcements (with personal touch of throwing in their nicknames and relationships to us) ourselves before the event and having our recordings synced with the entrance music as if we were announcing our Wedding Party ourselves and presenting them to our guests. The announcements would be done in a way to make the guests believe that we were doing them live as we’re waiting to come into the reception ourselves. Once the bridal party is introduced, we’d ask everyone to stand and announce ourselves in as I say “Mr.” she says “Mrs.” and we both say our last name then the doors open for us.
The whole thing will take about 2-3 minutes with about 6 couples in Wedding Party then us. Our script of what we say would be very easy going, playful, and high energy (to simulate as if it was live and we were pumped and ready to party).
Will this be awkward for our guests or will it work well if executed well?
Thanks, and any input or ideas are welcome
