I love Cedric and Miles! What about Brockton, Dominic, Daxton, or Blaine?

For slightly less common boy names, we like Roger and Edward (both family names) and also Ezra.

I love David (but definitely in the top 50, I’m sure) and Henry.

Eli, Owen, Liam, Dawson, Nathan. All “known” names, but not very common.

I’m not sure how unique elsewhere, but Ralph is on our hypothetical list and not so common in the UK. I quite like Douglas too, I think a toddler called Dougie seems hilariously cute haha

msdenverbee :  My three-year-old’s name is Miles. We’ve gotten lots of positive comments on it! It is not super uncommon, though, he know a couple of others. It was ranked #115 the year he was born, it’s #105 now. Our 4 month old’s name is Dean which people also seem to like and are surprised by, it’s #205 so less common but not totally out there. I love Cedric! I know an adult Cedric and he goes by Ced, it’s a great name!

MrsSapphire :  Ok, I am kinda LOLing that these names were mentioned on a “unique baby name” thread. Those are great names, but they are all extremely common (exception is Dawson). It is easy to check popularity of the names in the U.S. on the Social Security Administration website. Eli and Jack are both ranked around 50, Nathan has been ranked 20th-30th for the past 15 years, Owen is ranked 23rd for 2016 and Liam is literally the second most common baby boy name right now.

MrsAKSkier :  I never mentioned the name Jack and I had no idea these names were common. I live in a highly populated area and have not seen any trend with them being popular, but I guess statistics will prove me wrong.

msdenverbee :  Yea I understand. I had a similar issue where my name is commonly a nickname for another name (I’m Cassie and people assume Cassandra is my full name which it is not) There were other people who went by my name as a nickname which was actually quite frustrating because I would wonder why the other kid couldn’t go by her full name to avoid the confusion.

My son’s name is Austin, and it seems to be a good mix of not weird, but not very common. Most people we meet (like at his daycare) say he is their first Austin.

We love Keanu. I know everyone thinks Keanu Reeves but I’m also not 110% sure I care cause I love him too. 😂

My second choice is Dio.
