Who here is having unique cake flavors? I’m personally not a fan of plain chocolate or yellow cake.
We’re doing cupcakes and our flavors are lemon with a raspberry filling, banana nut with a carmel filling, and french vanilla for the people who may not like lemon or banana.
The lemon was sooooo good. I wasnt expecting to like it when we went to our tasting, but I ate the whole thing.
Also, while I’m at it (I dont want to make another thread for it) look at this bouquet I found. O.O Have you ever seen one so long? Its definitely not my taste, but I think its oddly pretty.

We’re having a winter wedding and our wedding cake is going to be gingerbread cake with bourbon maple buttercream. Instead of a groom’s cake, we decided to offer another dessert: shot glasses of brown butter pumpkin cake batter (!!!) topped with ginger infused whipped cream. Indescribably delicious and totally affordable!

Mmm those flavours sound amazing! We did one layer of raspberry filling, and one layer of hazelnut filling and it was scrumptious!

Oh they are so freaking good! I didnt get to try the french vanilla, but I’m sure it’ll be good. But the lemon was so yummy, and the banana nut was incredible! It sort of tasted like regular banana nut bread, but it was lighter and a bit sweeter.
OMG *drool* those sound amazing.
Ooh, I wish our baker offered hazelnut filling, that sounds so good! I love hazelnuts.

I am not sure if this is unique enough lol, but me and SO are huge fans of tres Leche cake with a mocha frosting ughhhh its so good!

@allyfally: Oh, gosh, I wish I could remember! I don’t have our order form with me – no binder today. We did 4 tiers and each is a different flavor. We have a pink champagne/chocolate marble with bavarian cream. A red velvet with bavarian cream (I hate cream cheese and theirs was too strong for me). Another marble combination. And a layer with slightly more traditional flavors – white cake with lemon filling – for our more traditional guests. 😉

I don’t think mine is really unique, but I had white with raspberry filling and coconut cake with lemon filling. The white with raspberry was so good, I ate almost all of the leftovers within a week. I don’t see too many just yellow or chocolate cakes, most usually have a filling!

One of our layers is lemon with raspberry filling! It was soooo freaking good at the tasting! then we are having a red velvet with cream cheese frosting and a butter cake with plain butter cream for people who like the boring 😉

@allyfally: Ours were kind of traditional I guess, but I also objected to the boring standard flavors! We tried to make things a little interesting. We had one layer of lemon cake with a lemon cream cheese frosting, one layer of marbled cake with cream cheese frosting, a dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache frosting, and the top layer was a dark chocolate cake with salted carmael buttercream. It was TO DIE FOR.
Your cake sounds amazing too! I’d totally go for the banana and caramel.

Yummy! We almost chose red velvet, but I dont want to risk walking around with my teeth all stained red. Haha.

we’re doing cupcakes and we’re having carrot with cream cheese frosting and a key lime cupcake with key lime frosting (the cake is white with a hint of key lime). We’re also going to do a chocoate just so there’s chocolate too.

We always get it from the Grocery store, Albertsons, actually. Tres Leches may be more familiar to California because we have a high hispanic population? It is a cake made with three different milks and it is very creamy and delicious. Top that off with some mocha frosting and oooh heaven haha.

No.. I wouldn’t say we are having anything unique for our flavors.. but we are doing something unique with our cake
. Instead of having 1 big tiered cake, we bought separate tiers for each cake, for a total of 8 tiers. Each tier will be a differant flavor… vanilla, chocolate, marble, red velvet, carrot.. haven’t decided what else yet!
