@lauralou852: Ive heard of ones like this… its a pretty cool idea… and the couple I know that used it still uses it today for special keepsakes…

In all the things Ive seen done non-traditionally… is it a card box is a card box is a card box?

I am “planning” or thinking about maybe doing may be more acurate…. a paper machet model of “his car” (his hobby fixer upper) and then decorating it like the “just married” car, cutting a hole in the top and calling it a card box!

We wrapped 2 boxes (one on top of the other) in a light burlap, then I cut out “cards” from felt, and made a few felt flowers. With the leftover burlap, I made a large ribbon, then I glued it all on. We’re having an outdoor wedding on a berry farm, so it fits the theme pretty well.

It’s in the middle.  Covered with real birch bark with some florals on the top.

@lauralou852: I love that, just emailed the photo to myself to add to my ideas. What did you use to keep the whole thing together, behind the frames, as support and a bottom? Thanks!

@flipflop84:  I’m glad this thread reappeared, because I may have to steal your idea for the dragon cage!

Hey ladies my Fiance and I love vintage items I’m more into rockabilly hair make up and clothes. And he’s into pre 60′ cars he has a 57 oval and collects vintage signs and coolers so for our card box we are using his coke cooler just have to figure out how to get the guests to figure that out.

I still don’t quite get what card boxes are for. Like…what cards? Is it some card I’m supposed to provide or is it like a congratulations card that guests bring? What are these cards for?

They’re usually cards the guests bring for the bride and groom that have congrats and money in them. Lots of weddings traditionally have some form of a card box.
