Love this question, ’cause I’ve been thinking the same thing! I’m interested to see if anyone has come up with some unique ideas!

A friend of mine received a home made box from a family member.  I looks like a 3 tier cake with pearls on it.  All I have to do is change the ribbon color on it and it’s mine.  I will try to find a pic.

What about just a basket? I have seen that at numerous weddings before.  Or a box shaped like a wishing well?

Here’s what I made!

It’s 3 hat boxes from Hobby Lobby, midnight colored satin fabric, lots of ribbon, and used spray adhesive and hot glue.

The pearly add-on is a belt buckle I snagged from the clearance aisle at walmart for $1 and the “P” is from the $1 bin at Michaels.  The fabric was $2 a yard and I used about a yard, I think.  Then all the ribbon…I think it cost about $20 or less.

We’re having a beach wedding, so I made a treasure chest. We bought a wood one from Michaels and had it stained darker and a hole cut in the top. Then I covered it in seashells and other sea things.
