Troy and I have been thinking about color combinations ever since we became engaged. We would like something a little unique but something that is summer in feel since the wedding will be in August 2013. We know we want a color palette that will look somewhat vibrant and that will photograph well. Originally we were thinking sangria and fern green, but although the sangria is a nice, almost magenta shade, the fern green might be a little dull. Lately we’ve been toying with magenta, royal blue, and coral, but I keep wondering if we should go with a more pastel palette since it will be so warm and summery and we’re hoping to have the ceremony outdoors, if weather permits. Thoughts?

I like the peach, sage and lavender! I love pastels and though my wedding is in October, I am still incorporating some gorgeous pastels into my colors!

That’s a great inspiration board @misschickpea. Love your color combo. We’ve been struggling with whether we should have a lighter, more pastel palette for a summer wedding or if we should have the vibrant colors we’re leaning towards (or maybe a combo of both).

Fern green, ivory and orange? you could even have a pop of violet in there !!! 🙂

You could totally add in a deep purple or/and a gold/bronze color to mix up the pastels and deeper colors! I think you can never have too many colors for a wedding! Everything flows so much better when you have a few main colors and 3 or 4 accent colors as well. Who cares what season it is, if you love the pastels then go with the pastels! Just throw in a deeper or brighter fall color to bring it all together!

I think that no matter what time of year your wedding is going to be, have whatever colors you want!!!! 🙂

I love the fern green and orange. It’s bright and festive, perfect for summer. That color combination, oddly enough, looks good with anything.

OK, I voted for Violet, Orange and yellow, but I think the Peach, Sage and lavendar is a winner – goreous!!!

I LOVE the peach, sage and lavender. I mean, if you don’t like pastel colors, you don’t have to go with them for sure, but I think they’re SO beautiful together and you could do a lot decor-wise with them!!
