I’m obsessed with art deco style rings–but they’re so hard to come by these days unless you buy a ring from that actual time period. FH is extremely superstitious and was against purchasing a ring that already had a history (although I LOVED the idea), so he decided to create mine from scratch! Needless to say, I’m in love with it!

futuremrswh8616:  Reminds me of Scar Jo’s ring! It’s beautiful! I love them online but anything even remotely wide looks silly on my long narrow fingers so I’ll just stare at yours and get my fix of old-timey beauty

My ring was custom designed by a jeweler on Etsy.  I had found my inspiration ring on google, but it didn’t have a stone in it.  So I photoshopped one onto it to see if I’d like the way it looked with a stone and  showed my husband (then boyfriend). I really liked the idea of the engagement ring and wedding ring interlocking to create one ring.  He took my mash-up picture and tried to find something similar and ended up finding the original designer!  So he talked to her and she created my ring.  Here is what it looks like separate- the wedding band part is really not designed to be worn on it’s own.

My ring was loosely inspired by a double band ring I saw online. I modified it to be a single band. The top was mid century starburst inspired and halo inspired. I call it a “modified” halo starburst. I had an original blue diamond e-ring that we bought with the intention of using to make a custom ring with. I love colored diamonds so I knew that I would incorporate some color into it. It was a 4 month process from beginning to end. I had to keep revising my CAD renderings so that they would match the vision I had in my head. I love it and know it’s not going to be loved by everyone but ultimately I am the one wearing it so it doesn’t matter to me. But here is my beauty!

@oliviakatherine we haven’t designed it yet!! I’m a little stumped on what to do–but I’m thinking I’ll end up getting some kind of thin, art deco-y band made with a space cut out on the top so that it fits flush against the center of my ring.

Sort of like this, but with a slightly bigger gap:

Okay mines not as unique as these but it’s custom and has a story lol. like you, mine was delayed. We were told it would be done no later than July 29 which was in time for our vacation on August 10 which he was going to propose. I found out August 4 that it hadn’t even been started yet. We ended up getting it the beginning of October. I was not a happy camper lol

Anyways, I’ve lost both my parents and he’s lost his mom. We designed my ring to include diamonds from both of our moms wedding sets! His moms are in my shank and my moms was hidden on the inside of the band. My moms fell out and has been replaced with her birthstone that way its still a symbol of her!

My ring is custom too. Your alls rings are very cool. My primary stones (center pear and 2 sapphire side stones) are from a ring of my moms. My Fiance proposed with the original ring and then we designed the new setting Together. I love it so much!
