I am really just wanting to have a traditional wedding, and since I haven’t been to very many weddings, I don’t know of anything off hand that will really set our wedding apart from others. Probably just the meaningful vows that we are going to have is the only thing I can really think of.

We are having the reception in a really historic venue that doubles as a museum during the day. The place offers docents to give tours to the guests, so I’m toying with the idea of hiring them for the cocktail hour for something a little different.

@june42011 – hiring the docents for the cocktail hour is a great idea!  i think it would be really wonderful to attend a reception in an historic location that offers informative people to let me know about the history.  great idea!

our wedding is very DIY and casual…  we’re trying very hard to create a relaxed, family-bbq sort of atmosphere.  i find i’m most comfortable at casual events, so i hope that is the case for our guests, too!
