We are getting a calvin and hobbes print (we both love the comic and it’s a relevant comic strip) and will frame it and have guests sign the border.

We plan on doing this. We want something we can hang in our home and remind us of our wedding and the support our guests showed.

I totally stole an idea that I saw from a blogger on here. I can’t remember her name, sorry! Chime in if you see this. But guests will sign a paper circle with a gold sharpie and then put it in the glass container. I will take all the circles and make a larger version of the framed directions. This is what I made and will be set up similarly at the wedding.

We did wedding mad libs. People LOVED it and had a blast. We’re going to put them in a book so we can look back on them. Some people were sincere, some people were funny, and yes some were inappropriate (but so are we so it’s ok lol). Huge hit!

For us, we did not want something we could hang in the house. We have plenty of wedding pictures we want to hang and didn’t want a wedding overload. When we start having kids, we would have to make room for their pictures and we didn’t want it to sit in the basement. Something we could store with our wedding albums fit our needs better.

We are both huge baseball fans (though different teams).  So we are getting a home plate (for non baseball people where the batter and umpire and catcher stand, hit etc) And going to put a monogram or something in the middle of it, or just a W and the wedding date and have people sign that.  I may have bridal party sign baseballs and then put it all in a shadow box 🙂

I’m having a photobooth at my wedding and am getting a photo scrapbook as part of the package where our guests can glue on their photo strips and write us a message. Kind of boring and not something I plan on taking out to look at very often.

BUT! I have a really cool idea to take all of the digital copies of the photos and arrange them into a cool collage to frame and put on the wall.

I bought this globe on Etsy – she customized the colors for us and it has our names and wedding date on it too.  It was definitely more than I planned to spend on a guest book ($150 including shipping), but we love to travel and it was different so we felt like it was worth the money.  Everyone signed it with metallic pens and it turned out really well.  Some people drew really cute pictures too (like a Loch Ness monster or a sailboat).  It’s on the buffet in our dining room now.

I got my inspiration from this photo here: http://i0.wp.com/farm8.staticflickr.com/7353/11739225955_a3e58ecd8f_c.jpg?resize=800%2C534

Only we will be asking an acquaintance of ours, who is very talented, to draw small characters for each of the guests, based on the photos we send, so they should be able to recognize themselves in the mix quite easily. And then they will be able to colour themselves as they want and write whatever they want in the speech bubble! and we will have a beautiful artwork filled with love, or at least we hope we will, haha 🙂

I have been scrapbooking our relationship so we are going to use the last two pages of my scrapbook so people can look through our love story.

We created a guestbook on Shutterfly with photos of us. I think it will be a hit! Well, it already is with me and that’s all that counts. Plenty of room for people to write as much as they want!

We got this beautiful family tree guest book off of etsy – guests write messages in the “petals” on the tree.

My dad built all the benches we used for our ceremony/reception and he made an extra one we used as our guest book! It turned out AWESOME! We had a second guest book that was a Bible- we had guests highlight and sign next to their favorite verses. I know we will cherish that Bible for decades!

We framed watercolor prints of where we’re from (Spain example above) and then framed a watercolor print of Philadelphia, where we met. Then we put out colored pens that would match for guests to leave us personal messages on our country prints and messages for us as a couple on our Philly print. We expect to hang them above our bed’s headboard and side tables.
